Excellent Experience

We just stayed in the Hesperia Hotel in Venice. We chose this hotel from comments listed at the Trip Advisor site. Thanks so much for everyones recommendation for this hotel. We were here after finishing a cruise. We were able to walk to the hotel from the cruise ship (Not an easy walk with luggage but doable). Our friends paid 90? to get to their hotel. We were able to check in early and take showers. The hosts were able to give directions and instructions on places to go. The next morning we had a very easy walk to the Allilugna (water bus) to get to the airport. Only over one bridge. The breakfast included the next morning was above our expectations.
Good stay

4 night stay in early May. It was our 2nd staying there after, first time 3 years ago. Would stay there again. Good view of the canal, staff extremely helpful with recommendations and they even have vaporetto tickets for sale. They recommended Osteria Giorgino for dinner and was probably one of the top meals throughout 17 days in italy. The rooms are the standard small room, but besides sleeping at night and my standard late afternoon nap, we don't spend alot of time in the room. All the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. My bad habit of smoking had me going downstairs in the morning and talking with the fellow that works at night till 8 am and him telling me about growing up and living in Venice. He told me when we checked out that he was going to miss our early morning smokebreaks. I had to say that I will miss our talks also.

We did not stay at this hotel but in an apartment of theirs nearby. After contacting several hotels that were full and being referred to the Hotel Hesperia, we arrived to find the hotel fully booked. They offered to house us in a small apartment nearby for a price less than for a hotel room. Staff member Caterina (wonderful kind young woman) showed us to the apartment located several blocks away (which was actually closer to the Rialto Bridge and other attractions) and upon seeing it, we accepted. Caterina then took our payment and returned to our "flat" later that evening with our receipt and passports - she also brought us extra towels, garbage bags etc,,, - well and above expected service. Other staff were just as wonderful. When we checked with the hotel the next day to pay the remainder of our charges, the desk clerk helped us with vaporetto information and even called and re-confirmed our departing flight for us. Both woman spoke great English and were outstanding in their helpfulness and courtesy. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice!

We stayed here for 3nights last summer. We had the room on the terrace at the very top of the hotel which was really nice & private as you had the terrace to yourself most of the time. Hotel is in a nice area & about 15mins from st marks square. We had breakfast outside in the morning whch was lovely.

Stayed early May for 2 nights. Price EUR 320 for B&B - not bad for Venice.
Hotel very handy for vaporetto, bus and train stations, and main sights, but just off the tourist drag. Cannareggio is a very pleasant, authentic-seeming area.
Nice room which overlooked the canal. I understand that not all do. Only minus point was the shower room, which was very small.
The reception and other staff were very pleasant and helpful.
I shall certainly aim to stay here the next time I go to Venice.
