We stayed at the Haikko Manor for business puposes.
The setting of the hotel is truly faboulous in some acres of typical landscape. The garden and surroundings are very nicely kept up.
However the grandeur that is expected from pictures and the outside was not present on the inside.
The whole building gave a very tired impression on the inside.
We stayed in the old manor building and although the rooms were not at all in the style of the building they remained a bit outdated and were rather small. The bathroom had hardly any room to move at all.
We dined twice in the hotel. The food was plain and the service at the table somewhat mishandled. Ordered drinks did not come until the main dish was on the table.
The breakfast choice was poor and not all what could be expected.
All in all we expected a bit more of the place

I visited Hotel Haikko Manor in January 2006. The old Manor building is very beautiful and charming. The spa and congress building is also quite nice. The spa is not so large, but very sophisticated.
The reason to visit Haikko Manor is the kitchen! I declare that the grilled whitefish, they serve in the restaurant, is the best fish I ever have eaten! Try also the excellent vinelist.
I will probably visit Haikko Manor in the future.

We are a German-Finnish couple and spent our "wedding night of your dreams" in Haikko Manor in summer 2003. It is a special arrangement in the traditional manor room with champagne and strawberries upon arrival and champagne breakfast served in the room. We paid around 400 bucks, thus rather much for European standard and compared to the normal rate of 150, I guess.
We arrived around 2:30 a.m. and the reception was friendly. They asked us when we wanted to have our breakfast. As we were flying for our honeymoon next day, we asked it for 8 a.m. (also to be able to visit the Japanese spa and Finnish sauna of the manor in the morning). They took a note of it. We had a great room, with chocolate-strawberries and champagne.
The wake up came next morning - while we experienced the Finnish customer service (thus, none!). There was a heavy knock-knock sharp at 8 a.m. as requested and a grumpy lady entered our room, not even telling good morning. She pushed the trolley with all the splendid goodies (marvellous cuisine!) in front of our bed and informed us "the champagne will be served at 9 a.m. The Finnish law prohibits to serve it before that!". Hellooooooo!?
Could not they tell us while we made the booking?! Are we supposed to know the Finnish law by heart on our wedding night? Ridiculous. We started the breakfast without the champagne. At 9 a.m. the same grumpy lady knocked again and pushed the ice bucket with the Moet Chandon next to the door, no comments.
To be as sophisticated as its local image, Haikko has still a lot to learn regarding customer service!
