Have just returned from a overnight stay at The Morrison. The Hotel is very easy to find (just on the Quays) look out for the signs for Jervis Street Shopping Centre. The hotels is within walking distance of the city and adjacent to Temple Bar. Rooms are modern and breakfast was excellent. The Jervis St stop for The LUAS is just behind the hotel. The only drawback is that parking for the hotel is located in The Jervis St Shopping Centre Carpark and this carpark closes each night at 7.30, with exceptions on Thursday and Friday when it closes at 9pm so if you are checking in after those time you will have to park on the street which can be hard to find in this area. The car park opens each morning at 7.30 with the exception of Sunday when it opens at 10.30. We would stay here again because of its great location.

Stayed here for 2 nights on business following recommendation from a colleague - loved it ! Very chic hotel - design by John Rocha. Very friendly and efficient (Irish) staff were most helpful. Rooms are well equipped and very modern, with lovely toiletries provided ( Irish again ) and a well equipped bar and tea/coffee selection.
Restaurant again very chic ( dramatic actually ) and breakfast buffet spread was fab. Everything from full Irish cooked breakfast to good selection of fresh fruit and pastries - definately something for everyone. Business or pleasure, the Morrison has a very central location, right on the banks of the Liffey and less than 5 mins walk to the Temple Bar area. Highly recommended.

Had a great experience here. Yes, the bar is dimly lit, yes the corridors are also dimly lit, but it's not that there is something to hide. It's purely to create ambiance. In the evening little tealight candles are scattered throughout and along the steps on stairs which adds to the feeling. The main entrance on the quayside does bring you straight into the bar which, in order to get to reception, you have to walk through. But there is a clear designated walkway to follow that is set apart and runs parallel to the bar seating area - so you are not actually walking THROUGH the bar as some reviews might have you believe. Alternatively, there is a side entrance (Jervis St side) that brings you straight into reception.
Check in was a breeze - very efficient and polite staff. We were asked if there were any special requirements and we said all we needed was a taxi for 8.45pm to bring us to the restaurant we were visiting. Reception said no problem - they would book one for us.
The room was perfectly fine. Ok, wasn't a room with a view (back of hotel) but that wasn't important to us as we had plans for the evening.
Loved the fluffy robes, slippers, bathroom smellies etc. Comfy bed, great big pillows, sound system, flatscreen interactive TV, etc. Really, nothing to fault at all.
We took our aperatif before dinner in the bar. Again, faultless. Background music was of the chilled variety.
And as promised by reception, our 8.45pm taxi arrived.
Upon return from dinner, we went back to the bar for a nightcap and then went to bed - before which we decided to have breakfast in bed the next morning. So we filled out the menu card and slipped it on the door. (This was well after 1.30am).
Breakfast was served promptly at 9am (after a brief phone call to warn us it was on its way). Full Irish which was not greasy at all. Excellent I would say (and I'm Irish so I know what a fry is all about). We also had cereal, toast, croissants, juice. Really was fresh.
Check out was also no problem. Very gracious front desk staff.
All in all, a great experience. Not cheap, but then again Dublin these days is not cheap. I found it worth the added few Euros as it left us with a good impression and no hesitation in returning. If Laura Ashley is your cup of tea and middle England, then the decor/style may not be for you. But we found it bordering more on the hip/contemporary without being too much either and in keeping with Dublin's young modern vibe.
We didn't eat at the restaurant itself so we cannot comment.

Just returned from a lovely long weekend in Dublin.
After searching for weeks for a reasonably priced hotel that was central, eventually found the Morrison.
Great location, near lots of great restaurants, sights and shops!
Staff were great, concierge really helpful. As it was a bank holiday weekend, I made a list of places to visit and asked them to find out the times and admissions, on return from dinner, list was popped under door, with all info plus more. Breakfast was fab, great selection of fresh fruit, cereal, cold meats, pastries, and hot food. We dined in the Halo restaurant one night, food was great, staff very attentive, bit pricey, but then the food was very good, and so were the portions! Room was great, great design, and some lovely pieces of modern art, comfy beds, black out curtains, big tv, complementary fancy toiletries, and tea coffee.... Room service wasn't too badly priced either.
Only down side was there wasn't a carpark but was able to park 300yds away in nearest shopping centre carpark for 12E a night....
Highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Dublin. Also we dined a lovely restaurant called Peploes, which i can recommend too.
Great location but things could be better

Stayed here during the first weekend in June. This was a perfect location--very central. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel needs some rejuvenation, however. It looks like it was much nicer back in the day when the paint was fresh and everything was cleaner. For example, the walls and furniture in our room were scuffed in places, and the shower tile wasn't as clean as I would have liked. The sink and shower drains were slow. Our room was dusty. The hallways looked a little beat up.
