Stayed there for 7 days 1st week of June 2008. Very nice place but split between two management companies caused lot's of unpleasant issues, especially for a resort stay priced this high.
Some condos managed by outrigger which is on premises, but other condos (the one we stayed at) managed by another off site company so could not get any service on site from outrigger and off site management company was no help either.
Issues were things like, no conceirge service, no charging anything to room, which makes it difficult when you have kids that have to carry money or come and get the parents anytime they want to buy food/drinks etc. The on site outrigger managne people were also rude to persons like us that were staying at a condo managed by the other off-site company.
Evidently a split between condo owners as to which company to
use. Was a real problem to everyone we talked to. I just didn't need to hear and deal with anyl of this on a Kauai vacation, especially spending the kind of money you have to spend to stay there.
WOULD NOT recommend staying here unless this management company issue has been resolved, too many other places to stay that don't have these issues. Also stayed at Marriot condo's in Poipu and had great service, wish we'd just stayed there the entire time
for what it's worth...

We just returned from staying at the WBR and had an outstanding stay. Eleven members of our family stayed for seven nights and eights days at this wonderful resort. Our group ranged in age from 4 to 80. We enjoyed this place so much that we will definitely return here again.
What we liked:
Location, centrally located to explore the island.
Rooms, were clean, full kitchens, and well equipped. Our first stop was Safeway (directly across the street). We stocked up on breakfast and lunch items which made it easy for all of us; we weren’t dependent on restaurant’s availability. The bedrooms where large with comfortable beds and adjoining bathrooms. We rented two two bedroom three bath condos which worked well for our group. We did utilize the sofa bed in the living room and it would have been nice to have blackout curtains on the living room windows as the morning sun awoke those in the living room early.
Grounds/Pool: Our kids especially loved the river pool, waterfalls and most of all the water slides.
Staff was kind and friendly, especially the bartenders.
Trying to keep to a budget we purchased a collapsible cooler and would bring sodas, waters, beers and margaritas down to the pool. No glass is allowed in the pool area so we stayed with cans or plastic cups.
There are good restaurants within walking distance of the WBR as well as a Cold Stone Creamery and a Starbucks across the street.
With such a large pool area we never really felt crowded. Our kids cried on our last day there and we adults knew that we had found a place to return to, maybe next time without the kids?.

We were married on Kauai and our immediate family came out with us. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms, while each of our families rented a condo (through Outrigger). It worked out perfectly! We were in the same building (even though it was two condos and one hotel room) which made things easy.
The hotel room was nice, but the condos were excellent! Spacious, well furnished, full kitchens, washer/dryers. Very nice (and helpful).
Great pool (cant do much swimming at the beach). And catch the happy hour at the bar/grill (in between the pool and beach).

This place was fabulous. We have three little boys (9, 6 and almost 3). They loved the pool and no matter where we went they kept asking when we could go back to swim. Great location for exploring the island. It was easy enough to go north or south. Only one problem - Cane Toads. In the late spring/summer months, the toads are excessively noisy all night long. Possibly it's mating season. Our unit was above the Koi pond, where the frogs like to hang out. The roof extension from the lobby serves to perfectly resonate the all night toad concert. After two sleepless nights, we bought a net and relocated 50 of the toads. We relocated 50 more the next night. The noise was significantly reduced and the lobby/security staff didn't seem to mind as long as we stayed out of the pond. The toads hang out on the lava rocks surrounding the pond. If catching poisonous toads isn't your thing, request a unit closer to the beach if you plan to be there during high toad season.
