Good, average hotel for the Maidstone area. We stayed at this hotel for a friends birthday and they catered very well for us. Our room was clean, a little dark, but to be honest we weren't really in it very much. The shower was good and the bed comfy. We had drinks in the evening and they looked after us, allowing the bar to stay open until we finished. Breakfast was good, we had an english breakfast with everything you could wish for. Staff were happy to help and I would probably go back if I were to return to the area.

Food - AWFUL
Service - AWFUL
Rooms - Dirty and AWFUL
The Manager - South African i think - did not have a clue, didn't know the menu, didn't know anything about the local area, had to call the waiter when I asked him about the wine list.
The main road (about 6 feet from the hotel window) was intrusive, loud and smelly. The Managers attitude when I asked to change rooms left me feeling like a naughty school boy-refusing my request because "it was obvious that the room was going to be noisy and there was nothing he could do about it. I should have realised it was close to the road when I booked the room.......

I stayed here after looking at all the reviews on trip advisor
Arrived late after work and staff were very welcoming
Room was nice and clean, bathroom was ok, decent shower
Breakfast was pleasant and worth getting up for
My room was at the back but apparanty if you at the front you can hear the traffic going past
I paid £75 for a single room
It has free parking at the rear.
The only bad point i asked for a wake up call but they forgot!!
Nice hotel worth going to
My top tip
If you are driving look for the police station then the entrance to the car park is just infront (10m). The white barrier opens up as you drive in and just keep driving straight up, to the back of the hotel
Avoid doing a lap of the one way system!!

We held our wedding reception at the Stone Court Hotel earlier this month and our day was perfect from beginning to end with much of the credit going to the staff at the Stone Court. The service we received from making the booking right up until taking our photos to show the staff was outstanding. We felt as though we were the only couple having a reception there all year. Many of our guests commented that the food was the best that they had ever eaten at a wedding and the curry buffet served to our evening guests was extremely popular. No one left hungry.
The staff, especially Neil, Sue and Stan ensured that the day ran like clockwork and most importantly that everyone had a great time. Our guests stayed in the hotel and all of the rooms are delightful and the guests loved finding a piece of wedding cake in a box on their pillows before bed!
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a fantastic wedding venue. We will be back next year for our first anniversary.

Have stayed at the Stone Court Hotel twice, when the Village Hotel at Maidstone was full .
Lovely old building but situated directly on a very busy , noisy road . There is a grand sweeping staircase - no lift - and no offer to help with heavy luggage up two flights of steep stairs either ! The lobby and downstairs lounge are much better decorated than the rooms which are old, and a bit shabby.
First stay Summer 2005 - stayed in in small attic room on second floor , room small but OK apart from the sink only had hot water (?).
Requested an iron but they could not find a board so ironing work clothes a real problem. Had to have window open due to heat and traffic extremely noisy at all hours of day and night.
Stayed again in April 2006 , rang beforehand and requested a room AWAY from the road. Despite saying this would be no problem I was again given room in attic , facing road ( worse - it had a broken window, though there is cheap 'diy double glazing ' which looks like it dates from the sixties ) plus a TV which was also ancient and not working.
Asked to be moved , to which owner rather grudgingly agreed to- he was already aware the TV was dead yet seemed to think this was not a problem .
Given another room on first floor - much bigger but situated on a corridor where kitchen staff took smoke breaks so room constantly smelled of smoke
Ordered room service - disappointing and very expensive for what is was.
breakfast OK, service quite slow though. Bill wrong on checkout .
One good point , all rooms had irons ( and boards! ) on my return visit. But all in all , could do a lot better.
