The airport hotel Schonefeld is located one S-Bahn station away from the airport but it also provides a complimentary shuttle service that is available almost all day from or to the airport. The rooms are very large and they even have a separate lounge with couches and TV! The night shift staff was really friendly and helpful. The bad thing is that the hotel is far from the centre of Berlin (about 35 mins with S-Bahn), not so suitable for sightseeing. We used it only for a night-over and were very satisfied with both the amenities and the low price!

I made the mistake of trying to find it myself anf that was a big mistake. A travel agent accross the road from the airport had never even heard of it! Ended back up in the airport completely confused! However I quickly realised that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for the airport. There is a courtesy phone near the Info Desk. Hotel appear to be in the middle of a housing development. That said it was fine, basic but clean. Very handy to railway and by asscoaition central Berlin.

Meine Freundin und ich verbrachten Mitte April eine Nacht in diesem Airport Hotel! Man sollte nicht zu viel erwarten, was Ambiente und Komfort angeht. Das Hotel liegt in nicht zu großer Entfernung zum Flughafen Schönefeld und ist super geeignet um die letzte Nacht vor dem Abflug in der Nähe des Flughafens zu verbringen (wenn man nicht in Berlin wohnt). Das Hotel ist ein umgebauter Neubaublock der ehemaligen DDR und dies sieht man dem Inneren als auch dem Äußeren des Gebäudes an! Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig, wenn auch etwas spartanisch, eingerichtet und bieten das Nötigste, was man für eine vernünftige Übernachtung braucht! Insofern kann man sagen, dass 59 € ein vertretbarer Preis für eine Nacht im Doppelzimmer darstellt, obwohl in manch anderen Hotels das Frühstück in einem solchen Preis enthalten ist. Hier kostet es allerdings einen Aufpreis! Es gibt eine Bar und ein Restaurant, dessen Karte allerdings eher überschaubar ist und welche dem mittleren Preisniveau entspricht. Weiterhin steht ein Shuttle zum Airport zur Verfügung. Die Zimmer sind sauber und auch der zu erwartende Fluglärm hält sich in Grenzen. Wie laut/leise es tatsächlich ist hängt aber sicher auch davon ab, wie stark sich die S-Bahn bemerkbar macht, welche während unseres Aufenthalts auf Grund von Bauarbeiten nicht in Betrieb war. Wer sich auf die Suche nach kulinarischen Tempeln, Shoppingmeilen oder ähnlichem begeben möchte, sollte dann doch lieber das Taxi, die S-Bahn oder sein eigenes Auto nutzen, da es von oben genanntem nicht gerade viel in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hotel gibt (abgesehen von einem Supermarkt) ! Insgesamt ein für diesen Preis akzeptabler Aufenthalt, obwohl ich denke, dass Berlin da noch einiges mehr zu bieten hat!
