The super positive reviews of this site confound me. This is a two-star hotel at best. Some of the front desk staff were nice and others were very gruff. The elevator is so small you can fit one person with one suitcase. Since I checked in with a group, this led to long delays.
The bedroom is OK and I will admit that my small room opened onto a balcony from which I could see the park off the side street. Some rooms for other members of our group were huge. My shower was extremely small, and the only U.S. satellite channel was Fox, not one of my faves.
Breakfast was decent, with fresh cornetti from the bar across the street. I will say the breakfast room staff were efficient and aimed to please. There were some decent restaurants within a short walk, but the rest of the neighborhood was nondescript.
We were also there on a Sunday and a national holiday, so Palermo seemed dead. Thankfully, we took a day trip to Cefalu, which was beautiful and where I had one of the best meals during our two week trip.
We all thought we were staying at the Hotel Jolley. To be honest, so did our travel agent. So, driving up to this place was quite a shock. We survived and hotels chosen for us in Agrigento and Taormina made up for this place.
Nearby is the hill town Monreale, which I recommend for the Cathedral.

Great price. Great location. Great staff. Great room.
Adecuate breakfast.
Palermo has as many or more monuments as Rome.
Rome has cleaned the monuments for the tourists;
Palermo is using the monuments for commercial use:
Hotels, apartments, restaurants, etc. So you can share
and feel the buildings. Palermo is amazing, sights are
stunning, it is just terrific. I could spend another week
sightseeing. The food is better in Rome, Palermo's
food is expensive and not so good.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days in April with two friends. Room was on third floor with plenty of space for the three of us. Very interesting lift - room for just one and a suitcase or 3 very close friends!!! If you fancy a walk there are 100 steps - we counted them - usually on the way down!
Hotel is spotless and well looked after, with some interesting wall and ceiling paintings.!
Breakfasts were ample with rolls, cold meats, cheese, jams etc and lovely pastries - with surprising fillings - because you never knew what you were going to find inside them - but they were always very tasty!
Hotel Joli is very well located for main thoroughfares, transport links, bars and restaurants.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with supplying information, arranging transfers to the airport etc.
Excellent value for money - would thoroughly recommend it.
Hated the Joli, Palermo

When we arrived at the Hotel located at a very busy corner in Palermo, we were not offered help with our luggage. Our
party consisted of two senior citizens and our adult daughter.
We had to go up the stairs to a mezzanine type room from
which you could hear heavy car traffic and people loudly talking on the street corner. The bathroom was so small that my husband could not get into the shower (the door opening could not have been bigger that 12 inches. The dimension of the bathroom was not larger than 4 feet x 3 feet. As we came into the room there was no closet but a very small armoire totally unsuitable for three people. By the way, to add insult to injury, there was a dead roach behind the door entrance.
Suffice to say that I promptly contacted a four star hotel (Hilton) and we immediately took off from that hell hole. Buyer beware, the pictures shown in the internet do not really reveal what the
actual premises are. We are surprised that Hotels.com is
associated with such a dump. Also, do not confuse this hotel
with the chain of hotels named JOLLY.
