I am in the middle of my stay and was annoyed enough to write a quick review straight away. In a nutshell, this hotel is great to look at. The rooms were rufurbished last year and they are terrific. I am a Starwood Preferred Guest so maybe those rooms are slightly better but I imagine there is not a huge difference. The main problems I have had relate to service. A couple of small things like room service not knowing that there is a sign in the room offering premium coffee at a reduced rate is one example but these things you can live with. What I think is really poor is that the coffee in the room is the cheapest Nescafe you can buy with a plastic stiring stick and there are no steam irons available in the entire hotel! I am on vacation and it is annoying enough that I cant iron my shirts (the non steam irons do nothing, you are better off trying to use your hand). If I was on business this would be horrible. They charge $14US to iron a shirt! I think both of these things are designed to raise revenue but I think it is ridiculously poor service in a hotel that has a rack rate of $600US per night. I hope that this hotel reads these reviews (I have filled out my comment card as well) and I feel better now :)

I just returned from a 5 days break in Lisbon, and I was very pleased both with the hotel and the city.
Lisbon is a decadent and charming city, situated in a very special location, that makes it very attractive, with lots of hills and slopes, great viewpoints and very beautiful buildings, many of them in poor condition (or abandoned, even in very central areas), which is part of its attractiveness. Both bridges that cross the Tejo river are simply spectacular, and to keep the old tramways has been a wise decision.
The Sheraton is a grand hotel, that meets the expectations both for business and leisure travellers. Rooms are extremely well apointed, with good materials and large facilities. The decor is impeccable.
Although many former reviewers have said that booking a Club room was not worth it, as they are exaclty the same as normal ones, I still think that I was right booking a Club room, for two main reasons: a) parking is included in the fare and b) views of the city are fantastic.
The location is good also. It may not be in the old center, but it is in a calm area, close to Liberdade avenue (Lisbon's main avenue), right next to a subway station.
Finally, other guests have pointed out that the staff were not as nice as they should be. At least, it was not the case with us. In our experience, they were always pleasant, helpful and efficient.
All in all, a great find in Lisbon. With no doubt, I will stay there next time I come back to Lisbon.

GREAT hotel, average location

This hotel had one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Very clean and VERY modern. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was HUGE and had tons of cool little gadgets. Little seating area and desk area were great for lounging at night. Flat screen tv with a few english stations were a bonus.
The location was the only negative about this hotel. The walk down to the sites was about 30-40 minutes. There is a subway stop a block away, but going to the touristy areas required a transfer. This wasn't the worst thing in the world, but we like to be able to walk to places when we are on vacation.
There is a Pizza Hut nearby that has a great lunch time buffet.
The rooms of this hotel really bump it up to the excellent level.
Amazing hotel!

This is an amazing hotel! I stayed here a few years back and they had already remodeled. Super swanky and contemporary. Staff was friendly, service impeccable. The view at the Panorama Restaurant was amazing, as was the food (although very pricey). I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

As many have noted, the hotel is fresh off a renovation. Everything was really top notch. Our room was really great, great views, great location as the hotel sits on top of a subway station and it is really easy to get into downtown in just a few minutes. The staff was wonderful and the views from the lounge on the top floor are spectacular. Only down item would be the 'wet' spa charge which was like $20USD.
