We booked this hotel on hostelbookers a few months ago. We were worried when we read the review re: stolen property at the hotel as we travelled with a laptop. The hotel entrance was nice in comparison to the smallish rooms. Good value for money considering we got breakfast included for 80 euros per night.
Staff were slightly rude and hesistantly gave information on public transport and tourist information. We left our 'do not disturb' sign on the door to ensure that our room wasn't serviced and subject to potential stolen property.
Fairly good value

Room was clean, functional and bathroom was spotless, well-maintained and spacious. Staff were mainly helpful. We spent two nights here right after arriving in Italy and chose the hotel for the price and the parking and the fact that it was not in central Rome. It was a bit difficult to find but we didn't mind the walk to the Metro. Breakfast was pretty good compared to other places we stayed in Italy.

At the airport we got a taxi to the hotel as we arrived at night (45 euros), on the way back we got the metro and direct train from Termini tickets are 11 euros each however no one checked them.
When you arrive and walk in, the entrance is very grand and has been modernised and there is anice outdoor area for having a drink on the evening. However the rooms (We had a double) have not, they are quite small and the showers are tiny!! The rooms have no coffee or tea making facilities, there is no lift and we were on the third floor which is okay as we are a younger couple but not so if old or disabled. There is air conditioning in the rooms which was a blessing.
If you expecting just a base for your trip then its okay. There is a supermarket 15 minutes away if you want to get some water and basics as there is a fridge in the room, in you turn left out of hotel and walk for 15 minutes you will find it.
The breakfasts are average. Evening meal was nice though.
For getting out and about in Rome I would recommend getting the bus for the vatican (Stop right outside the hotel) or get the metro which is a 20 minute walk away for other sites.
The best site was the collisseum and the palace tour, highly recommend using the group Romaround Tours for the collisseum tour (They have a website). We then walked up to Trevi fountain, spanish steps, I recommend taking trainers or good walking shoes as you will do LOTS of walking!
Overall I would recommend it and we had a great time looking around, even if my feet were aching by the end of it!
