I stayed 4 nights with colleagues during a work trip. The hotel is clean with tasteful traditional design, loosely themed on the Venetian Carnival. We were all assigned non-smoking rooms, followed by the smiling remark: "But you may smoke, if you like", which left the non-smokers amongst us rather irritated.
Since we had requested quiet rooms we got lucky and ended all up in corner rooms with windows to a light shaft. Lots of space in what practically was a 2-room-suite plus a walk-in closet. The bath room was spacious but went clearly overboard on the whole “pre-modern design” idea: bath tub only, no shower curtains. Breakfast was plenty and decent (if you like vegetables and salty food in the morning). Bread and coffee were sub-standard. Very friendly staff!
I can’t comment on the location: all we did for four days was to take the 8-min walk to the Palace of the People, and back. One piece of advice from painful experience: Make sure not to get ripped off if you take a cab at the taxi stand in front of the hotel.

Brill stay at Hotel Venezia

Just returned from Bucharest. Spent months trawling websites and studying hotel locations, prices, standards etc. Wanted hotel in city centre within easy reach of attractions, with 24 hour front desk and breakfast included. Found Hotel Venezia fitted the bill and trawled websites to find cheapest deal. all-bucharest-hotels.com was the best site - £260 for four nights. Booked on the hotel's own website it wouldhave been £336. The Venezia has been open only 5 months so everything is brand new even though it is located in an old building. We were more than happy with every aspect of it. Our room was quite spacious, clean with minibar, safe, very modern, clean en-suite. Breakfast consisted of hot food - omelette, sausages or mushrooms & boiled eggs. The cold food choice was the usual continental of hams, cheeses, cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, croissants, bread rolls and bread which could be toasted in the toaster available. The dining room is very nice to the left of reception and to the right of reception is a small cosy bar which is open all day and evening to take coffee or alcohol. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great Value and Location

This hotel is about 15 mins walk from the city centre but trams travel here every five minutes. The rooms are spacious all refurbished with TV (with english speaking channels!) and mini bar (a bit pricey). We booked through Hotel.com and paid about £50 for the room with breakfast - buffet style served in the lobby area, which offered a good selection of hot and salad etc. There is a small bar and the staff are helpful. We did not find any restaurants wortj mentioning nearby other than the kebab shop on the corner (excellent) but the centre is within easy reach. The cost per room is normally about £80 so we had graet value and therefore would recommend for short stay visits - comfortable, functional if not grand.
