Misleading location description and 'run down' accomodation...

We booked this hotel as the description suggested it was outside Fiera Milano Exhibition Centre, it isn't, it is actually right outside the old exhibition centre which is now derelict! It is approx a 30 min. drive from the new exhibition centre.
The hotel is in a terrible state and desperately in need of refurbishment. Carpets are stained threadbare and smell foisty and the rooms are grim. The staff were friendly but struggled to get us a taxi into Milan City Centre, which again is a 15-20 min. drive.
If you have the budget the Park Hyatt was amazing, we had a drink in the bar, fabulous place in perfect location. Otherwise the Jolly Hotel looked good from outside, although we didn't go inside, this was also in a good central location...

When I first booked through orbitz, I didn't realize that the room was booked for 1 person. In US, whenever we travel, there is usually at least a queen size bed.
So, when, me and my husband reached the hotel, we were in for a rude shock that the room could accomodate just 1 person (twin bed), so obviously we upgraded
I must say, the room was luxurious...The bathroom was stunning, there was LCD flatscreen TV in the room.
We were in Milan for just 1 night, so we went to see the Duomo. I guess being a Sunday, we had to wait for the tram for a very long time. in the morning, we had to catch a flight, since the hotel isn't close to subway, we took a cab to the train station from where we took a shuttle to airport
I would definitely recommend staying here, although a bit pricey.

A Real Dump !

Simply put, this place is a real dump. It is difficult to say if the stains on the corridor carpets, the smelly and dusty carpet in the room, the horribly grumpy staff, the run down beds or the banged up cheap furniture is what makes this place miserable....regardless, there is no need to stay in this hotel unless they gut the place and start over again (and replace the surly staff).
Paying anything over Euro100 a night will make you feel cheated.
PS - For fun if you do stay in this 'four star' joint try and ask for an iron and ironing board...you wont get one...you will only get told you have to pay for your clothes to be ironed !
