Lenght of stay, 7 nights. Date 17th July 07.
We went to Genoa to celebrate a surprise 70th birthday. Every year for our birthdays we give each other a surprise trip. Although we are getting on in years we are both very active and walk miles. I chose the Hotel Bellevue in the centre of town because the airport shuttle bus takes you to the Principle railway station. We could not fault the hotel ,superb very friendly and accommodating we would certainly stay there again. The hotel is visable from the front of the station, just up two flights of steps. Our room 446 had a good view of the harbour and the railway station. The room was large with an adiquate bathroom. The lift to the fourth floor looked very old but worked very well. Breakfast was continental, served on the first floor breakfast room.

Really consider your options

The Hotel is 2 blocks from the train station and within walking distance to the waterfront. This hotel should be considered only for an overnight stay to somewhere else. The hotel is in the middle of the block, on a busy street that had traffic backed up for miles, all day long. In other words, poor access. There is a garage for parking right next to the hotel and the gentleman that parked our car was very nice. However, the cost to stay was 21 Euro a night with no break for staying in the hotel. We walked into the lobby and were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of mold. The older, all male hotel staff that checked us in seemed like we were putting them out. I would not say unfriendy, but definately not friendly. In order to get to our room on the third floor we had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs to get to the elevator, which the staff did sort of help with. On a positive note, our room was clean and large, with a comfortable bed and clean sheets. The bathrom also was clean, but the shower was very small with barely enough room to wash. The rooms have boiler radiator heat. The radiator made noise all night long, thus we were unable to get any sleep. The breakfast that came with the cost of the room was the highlight of our otherwise disappointing stay. Fresh baked bread and a fairly good variety of options. After breakfast, at the front counter, there was a younger man that was very informative about options for where to go and what to see, but by this time we had already decided to go elsewhere.
This hotel should only be considered as a temporary stop on a trip and not somewhere to stay for any length of time.

This is a nice place to stay in Genova.
Rooms are clean, breakfast is decent (some variety which was nice!) and available til 10:30 in a 2nd floor breakfast area (with terrace).
I stayed here 4 nights with a couple companions in a triple room and we were pleased with the stay.
Internet is only available on a PC in the downstairs area, which would be alright except that you have to stand to use it, but hey, at least the connection was workable.

Un posto comodo per quando si scende dal treno senza aver fatto molti programmi. Abbiamo pagato poco più di € 50 per una camera singola, e secondo me non era molto. L'odore non moloto buono in camera era l'unico lato negativo. Lo staff era ok.
