Tricky getting back to the Interstate!
Guest name: DisneyWorlders, Northeast
This is a nice hotel. The entrance is kind of grand looking. The furnishings inside are a little more basic. Everything was clean, but the comforters were the cheap polyester kind and the towels were thin. There were scorch marks on the counter of the kitchenette. I liked that the windows could be opened a few inches for fresh air. (However -- a constant high pitched pinging sound woke me up at 7:00 a.m. -- I found out later is was coming from the car repair place next door! You would only hear this if you had the windows opened, BTW.)
I like that this small hotel chain is independently owned -- not run by some foreign country, like some.
They don't offer express checkout, which is a bummer.
But the most important thing to know about this place is that it is tricky to get back to the Interstate. The front desk should give every guest a little piece of paper with directions on how to get back on the road. You DO NOT GO BACK THE WAY YOU CAME. You come in from the east after exiting the highway. But the highway entrance is not back there. Make sure you turn right out of the hotel when you leave. You'll be going west. If you turn right, you'll be okay. (But your instinct will be to turn left, because you know you came from that way last night when you arrived!) There are signs for the Interstate shortly after you leave the hotel area going west. The road loops back around. It is simple as long as you remember to turn right when leaving, but not a bad idea to mapquest the address of the hotel, then click on aerial view and you can see how the roads work yourself.
The best!!

This was my third time staying at this hotel and each time it is always the best. The staff is very professional, the facility is very homely and clean. I went there to get away and do some heavy duty shopping(great deals). The stores and mall are not that far away from this area. The hotel has suites that is stocked with a full kitchen, living room, and snacks. The only thing that needs improvement that I noticed is the pillows and the mattress. It is also pet-friendly.

The Grandstay is very comfortable and gives you a safe and relaxing stay. They have a grill guests can use and a basketball hoop and swings out on the patio. My kids loved it and so did we.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Nice and very clean. Very nice people at the front desk. Small bedrooms. The smaller of the two doesn't even have a closet. The ventilation noise in that room was a bit loud. 3 TVs! Includes breakfast but we didn't eat it, we went out with our son. About 25 minutes from campus with all the construction downtown. Movies, restaurants and East Towne Mall less than 5 minutes away by car. Overall, an excellent value and we definately stay there again.

Grand to have two rooms rather than combined livng/bedroom. Nice kitchen with adaquate dishes, pots, etc. to get by for a few meals. Nice full size frig with icemaker and toaster, microwave, etc. Included breakfast includes DIY waffles as well as the normal cereal, juices and fruit. There is also a small patio with grill to use in the back. These make it a great place for people who choose to stay and not break the bank eating. The price we found was good but there is a downside also. It is a recently built building and there are some small design problems. Very small pool and really small hot tub. Like two/three person. In the room there are small errors like lavatories set to the left side and mirrors set in the middle of the wall so that one has to lean to see his face while shaving. Maintenance so far is not hurting too bad. The rooms are very well cleaned but I see future trouble. Like the robe hook hung on plastic anchors falling out and replaced with plastic wall anchors. Duh! Manager had to take a third shot to get us into a room. First was still occupied and Box elder beetles around the door come into two of his rooms and he tries not to rent them till last. Duh again. How about a can of bug spray? Overall not bad but some dufus there also. Difficult to get back on interstate if not using GPS. I would go back however.
