We didn't know what to expect when we arrived, but it was a pleasant shock when we arrived. The hotel was very pristine, had a sitting room, a restaraunt, a dining area for breakfast, a computer (you do have to pay to use it, though) and best of all, everything was in english.
Our room for a family of 4 turned out to be a suite, so the quality and size was excellent. The bathroom was actually big enough to move around in, there were 2 seperate rooms with the beds, and the tv actually played american movies. Every day, the bathroom was stocked with more shampoo and more body gel.
The breakfast provided by the hotel was quite filling. There were scrambled eggs, soft boiled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, a few types of cereal, croissants, rolls, meats, cheeses, several types of yogurt, fresh fruit, apple strudel, and coffee cake.
The only drawback to the hotel was its location. It wasn't exactly right in the middle of everything. The walk to the nearest tram stop was only about 4 min, but to most major attractions, you couldn't walk- you had to ride a tram to get to it. If you're desperate, you can walk to some things. We actually did walk to the Charles' Bridge in about 45 min.
The hotel does actually sell tram tickets, so that made it easy. Every morning we just bought all day tickets and saved a lot of time. They also offer an affordable taxi service to the airport. If you want to save stress, it might be worth it to use the service. We actually did, and it turned out to be great.

I just returned after a three night stay at the Hotel Julian in Prague. First the bad. The hotel's location is not exactly central. it is about a 5 minute walk and then a 10-15 minute tram ride to any major attraction. The hotel is near some decent restaurants, but the area surrounding the hotel seemed slightly sketchy (however, I should note that there are strip clubs and casinos all over Prague). All of this being said, I think that the location shouldn't be a major turn off, especially considering the value of the hotel.
The good. The staff at the hotel was very kind and helpful. They were very good assistance in booking tours and the front desk staff was always willing to render assistance. The rooms, while not 4 star, are very comfortable and large in size. For the price of the room, I felt like the hotel was a good value. There is also a tiny Irish pub in the basement of the hotel, where we had dinner on our last night at the hotel. We found the food to be good and the little pub to be a nice place to spend the evening.
Overall, I found the hotel to be a nice, welcoming place to stay. I would recommend it to fellow travellers, but include the caveat that the location is not completely central.

We booked this hotel through Airmiles after reading reviews here, and we were not dissappointed. Ideally situated literally round the corner from tram stop (trams only 10 GBP for 3 day pass) but only 10 minutes walk to centre. Despite very busy city centre the hotel is an oasis of calm. Hotel transfer, arranged by emailing hotel prompt and quick, 1200 czeck crowns in total return (approx 40 GBP) Room fine for city hotel, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lockers available to hold luggage for your last day after check out, perfect and secure. Breakfast easily enough to make lunch unnecessary! Recommended!

I booked the Hotel Julian as a surprise for my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary using the reviews on Trip Advisor as a reference and I have to say we weren't disappointed. The hotel was on the quieter side of the Vltava River, two streets back from the waterside and about a 10-15 minute walk to Charles Bridge.
The hotel itself was very clean, breakfast was simple but tasty and included fresh bread, scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, spicy sausage, continental style meats and cheeses with cakes & pastries. The hotel bar did food but we didn't eat there as there are so many places around to eat we ran out of time. We didn't use any of the other facilities but as a note there is a gym if you have any energy left after walking all day and there is an iron and ironing board downstairs in the basement which they let you use.
One thing we would recommend is that if you book this hotel ask them for a rear facing room. Although there is nothing to look at you will find it quieter as the road out front was pretty busy all night and the windows let a lot of noise through.
OUT & ABOUT --
If you cross the road directly outside the hotel and head left in the direction of Charles Bridge and the Castle( You can see this in the distance) keep walking for about 5 minutes you will find some decent bars. The best one we found along here is a Mexican Restaurant & Bar called 'Cantina'. The food is fantastic and the cockatils to die for but they get very busy so you may need to reserve a table if you want to eat. The other great place for food was a place by the river under Charles Bridge next to the jetties where you catch the boat trips. It's a golden building called 'At the Charles Bridge'. It serves the biggest & best Pork Knuckle in the area and is a BBQ style restaurant which again is very popular with its beer garden.
All in all we walked miles, saw everything and returned each day exhausted from all the walking we did. Some people have said to use the trams but the weather was sunny & 25 degrees + so we made the most of the weather and walked. Most afternoons we had freak afternoon showers for about 30 minutes followed by bright sunshine - very odd!! We would definitely return in a year or so but will go mid week again. As Friday & Saturday approached it felt like every Stag Party in the world descended on Prague and bars became very busy and drinks prices increased.
Definitely a country to visit but take flat shoes!

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Hotel Julian, we then went to Cesky Krumlov for 2 nights and returned back the Julian for 1 night. The first stay was fine, the room was very clean. We booked the honeymoon package, which included airport pickup which was great when you are in a brand new city. The room was simple but kind of noisy at night, as you can hear the traffic through the windows. So I would ask for a rear facing room if possible. We walked everywhere! Prague is definitely a city to walk all over. We only took the tram a few times. I found it not convenient in that you had to buy specific tickets either at the hotel or convenience store. But you had to know how many stops and how long you may be riding on the metro/tram to get the correct tickets. Definitely not the most convenient system. Did not eat dinner at the hotel, as there are several great restaurants within walking distance. On the one night back, the hotel could not find my reservation. Luckily, I had printed out the email confirmations with the prices and they had an extra room available, so everything worked out fine. Always print out your confirmations with prices!!!
