Comfortable Room
Guest name: portac, Houston
For 76 Euros/night internet price, I thought the Taylor hotel was a fantastic place to stay.
The hotel was remodeling and my room had a couple of cosmetic flaws, but the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is not particularly close to the tourist attractions, but it is pretty close to the Republique Metro station. I found Paris Metro very easy to use.
The hotel was reasonably quiet and down a secluded street.
I guess the only negative is that there was a homeless person living under the portico down the street. Walking past the vagrant was the most direct route to the metro station, but he did not harrass me.
Great room for Paris, it was very spacious and great for the price.

I had the chance to stay in the new deluxe room, the room was nice clean, and I had my breakfast in room served every morning, i must say that the hotel has greatly improved.

We stayed for two nights in double room facing the very quiet rue Taylor, and found the hotel very clean, which is rare for this star category in Paris. The room was also slightly larger than average, certainly big enough for two people for two days. Bathroom was a decent size and again, clean. No offensive smells. The gentleman on the reception speaks little English and seems a little grumpy but all you need to charm him is speak a little French and smile. You are in France after all.
The street is very quiet, but in our room we kept hearing an odd tapping sound coming from the pipes above the room, day and night. This was a little annoying but it didnt stop us from sleeping.
Good value for money all in all.

We read the reviews, and they warned us of construction, but the hotel told us that the construction would be finished far before we arrived...not so. The construction was right outside our windows (we rented 3 rooms for 3 days), and along with the lack of privacy and noice was an extremely irritating odor. They moved one of the the room occupants to another room but that really didn't help. They not very interested in our disappointment. The language barrier was significant in the evening when we needed to find a hospital, finally a cab driver figured out what we needed. At the end of the stay they did reduce the price of the rooms to try and make up for the issues. Take away the construction and lack of attention by the reception, and the rooms were adequate and clean.
