My wife and I stayed here in May 2008 for 4 nights. Super clean, small hotel. Superior room on the first floor. Good size, nice big bathroom ( hand held shower). Bathtub is very narrow, but hey, this is Paris! Comfortable bed, good sized wardrobe. Also mini bar fridge in room which is really nice for chilling the brilliant French wine. Great staff at the hotel, very friendly and helpful. Superb location on a quiet side street just a 5 minute stroll to Luxembourg Gardens and 5 minutes to the main street of Montparnesse. Lots of good restaurants around, find your favourite, we did. Highly recommended. Great value for the money, relatively inexpensive for Paris.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Danemark for a 'girl's weekend'. I chose the property based on location & price. It is a good value for a particularly expensive city like Paris. The staff (as almost everyone has mentioned) are very friendly & helpful. We checked in early so the front desk directed us on how to catch the bus to get to the boat tour on the Seine. Something we didn't consider (we were thinking metro).
I believe all the rooms are different, but ours had the jacuzzi tub which I don't recommend if you want the opportunity to take a stand-up shower, there is only a hand-held to use so that led to a bit of a wet mess the first go-round. Overall I would stay in this hotel again because of the price & the location & the staff.

My wife and i went to paris for a vacation Feb. 2008 and chose the Danemark. It was perfect in every respect, especially, I think, for a couple who are looking for a reasonable place (we paid $148USD per night). The metro is around the corner, artery to everything. It's right off Montparnasse Boulevard, walking distance to tons of shops, bakeries, bars, and good restaurants--try especially the many buckwheat creperies in the area. Embarrassingly, we don't speak any French and all the desk employees spoke great English and helped us out a lot. We arrived very early for check-in and they arranged for us to get in and sleep off our jetlag. On the second day, the maid brought us fresh cut flowers and, seeing a bottle of wine in our room, also brought wine glasses. A few reviews have called the place small, but it didn't seem that way to me. The renovation is a few years old but it's in good shape, neat and clean with funky decor--oil painting of a naked woman over our bed. I can't speak to the breakfast as we never got it--just bought croissants and bagguetes as well as yogurt and oj for desert and kept it all in the room's mini-fridge. The window in the room opened up onto the street. Some people have indicated it was loud but we didn't find it so. In fact, I liked being able to open it up and people watch on the street. The neighborhood is kind of trendy Montparnasse but it suited us fine. It was safe, a brief stroll from the Luxembourg Gardens for jogging, Cafe Vavin down the street had an awesome coffee, and a ten-minute walk to St. Germain, the Pantheon, and Sorbonne. The TV had a couple channels in English and one in Russian in addition to the French channels.
I should emphasize that everyone who worked there was especially helpful and friendly. We'll definitely return.

Hotel situtato in una bella...

My boyfriend chose this hotel for our anniversary break. It was a lovely small hotel with very friendly helpful staff. As previous reviews have said it is very small, the lift up to the floors can fit a maximum of 2 people and is a tight squeeze with luggage! But that's really not a problem as it is only a small building. The breakfast was nice with fresh pastries and juice. The hotel is located on a quiet street, a few mins walk from Vavin Metro station so is perfect for getting around Paris.
We ate at a few restaurants round the area but none that I would recommend as they were only just ok. The Marais area seems to have more variety with some nice typical French restaurants.
