This hotel is in the vicinity of the industrial area of Porto, of the Expo ( if this is why you are there for) and of the airport. If you are there as a tourist, find something else, as it is not located close to downtown, the view of your room is very austere (as I have mentioned - industrial area). The hotel is not bad overall, not great either... A typical 3 star. The food was not bad at the restaurant, the rooms are large, however not enticing. There was a convention at the time nextdoor at the Expo, and I guess it is a good hotel for it. Parking was also available.

Este Hotel es muy adecuado para quienes viajen desde el Aeropuerto de Oporto, pues está relativamente cerca, a unos 3-4 km y hacia la zona de playas de Matosinhos.
El hotel me sorprendió muy gratamente, pues aunque no es que los alrededores sean excesivamente bonitos, lo cierto es que la calidad de las habitaciones son propias de un hotel de 4 estrellas. En las inmediaciones existen restaurantes y concretamente, hacia el centro de la ciudad, a unos 400-500 metros andando desde el Hotel, existe una pizzería muy barata y de excelente calidad.
SIn duda un hotel recomendable, aunque en OPORTO los hay muy buenos, aunque algo más caros, pero cuando tenga que volver a OPORTO, me pensaré mucho si elegir entre este u otros de calidad superior.

Stayed at the Tryp because we had an early flight home from Porto airport next morning. Booking in was no problem as we had advance pre-paid reservations etc, but our room was SWELTERING although it was November, and only about 12 -15 degrees celsius outside. We found that our room's air con controls were useless and we were quite unable to turn down the heating which was relentlessly pumping warm air into the already sweltering room.. To make matters worse, the window wouldn't open and we called the front desk. The guy - who had just checked us in minutes earlier - was suddenly surly, unhelpful and grumpy when asked for assistance with the heating problem. I assured him that it was at least 30 degrees in the room, but he dismissed our complaint and reminded me tha t I should be glad the room was warm as it is now winter! Cheeky git!
All he needed to do was send up somebody from housekeeping to sort the heating controls out, but he couldn't resist the opportunity to be a [--].
Would I stay there again ? Definitely not.
Nor would I recommend it.
