We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over the Christmas holiday. We are American's living in London and we traveled to Paris with our 4 children. We booked 2 of the "triple rooms".
Good: Hotel was clean. Staff were nice.
Bad: Beds were very hard and short. Although, we are getting used to the European size of the beds and extra small rooms, we still don't like sleeping on mattresses that feel like concrete. Walls were thin - we could hear our neighbors and I am sure they could hear us. The room was hot - apparently the furnace was broken and they had been unable to find someone to repair it. So, we had to sleep with the window open - which made ALL the noise from the NOISY street come through our window.
Couldn't really complain to any of the staff as they spoke no english. The owner spoke english but we only say him the very first night. Would not stay here again.

I thought it was alright.......alright being a bit of an over exageration.
The tiles in the bathroom were cracked, there was no door handle on the bathroom, one of the party members i was with got locked in the toilet because the lock was dodgy. The television had no working channels. There were three beds in our room, (one double, two singles), you couldn't sit on the end of the double because if you did the bed leg would buckle and break off. We had to put the leg back on numerous times.
At breakfast the options of what to eat were very limited. Ranging from Cornflakes and Croissants, to cornflakes and croissants. To drink there was Orange juice, there may have been coffee and tea. I don't know what the evening meals were like, if there were any, as we went out and ate elsewhere.
Not recomended.

Please be sure not to mix this with the other Cecil Hotel!
This is the one on Rue Beaunier... Near Porte d'Orleans (Very close to metro line 4 - end of the line) - 2 minutes maximum on foot to Hotel.
If you traveled by Eurostar, as we did, Gare du Nord is also on line 4 very convenient.
The location couldn't be better... quiet, safe, "family friendly" area, near shops, cafe's, restaurants, and a wonderful huge park - parc Montsouris.
With the excellent, arguably, the worlds most efficient metro right there, traveling to "the attractions" is very easy.
The Hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, on arrival they quickly sorted out the mess created by our booking with "lastminute.com" and provided us exactly what we needed. (Avoid lastminute.com their "special" rate was more than the Hotel would have charged if we had booked directly)
The rooms whilst a little small - although typical for Paris- were clean and tidy. The beds comfortable and the rooms attractively decorated.
The room rate was neither cheap nor expensive - just right! I am surprised that they only have a two star rating!
I really can't think of anything that could have been better... we will definitely return, if they have availability, next time we are in Paris!

the beds were comfortable apart from the fact that one of four of the beds squeaked all night, there were someone elses pubic hairs in the bath, the shower was freezing and trickled out.. there was no bowls for cereal... but apart from that it was ok because we were only there for a weekend and we didnt really spend much time there..only at night and it was only a 2 star so it was alright

i think the above comments are really really generous as i had numerous problems whist i stayed there. i shared a room with four other people in a room made for at the most three people ,there was no room to keep any suitcases. when we asked to move rooms as we wernt happy we were told no because they were full. we did not ask for such a small room and certainly did not pay for such a small room. there were broken tiles on the bathroom floors and two beds out of the five were broken. when we did approach the staff they were very rude and unproffesional, they had a bad attitude and would not attempt to resolve our problems until we treatened to report them. i mean come on we had to pay to eat our cereal out of a bowl if you didnt pay you ate it out of a cup!!!!! i dont think i will ever return to this hotel again.
