this is a small, but nice hotel in the mainly residential musical area of paris. its only a short distance (maybe 5 minutes) from the metro. its only about 20 minutes from the Moulin rouge area. it is quiet and not very busy in the evening/night time. we did feel safe(contrary to what our taxi driver told us the area would be like). the hotel is small. we were in room 604 which was on the top floor. (dont be put off by your first impression using the lift!!!)
it was small. just enough for 2 people with small luggage. but it was very clean and we had a balcony which had AMAZING veiws of paris and sacre coeur. there is small supermarket and a few restaurants as we;; as an off licence. the breakfast was basic but nice. the staff were very, very nice and helpful. as we were leaving yesterday the rooms were being updated with lcd flat screen tv's. this is a great hotel for a couple wanting a base from which to visit paris in relative safety.

Quality Hotel Opera Saint Lazare: pulito, comodo e tariffe convenienti!

Quality Hotel Opera Saint Lazare – Clean, convenient, cheap!

This hotel is, in my opinion, one of the best deals in Paris. It is small; six stories and a total of 86 rooms, however you cannot beat the price and the location. Located in the heart of the musical instrument-making district of Paris, this hotel attracts many classical musicians. It is near the Opera which is a transportation hub, with the Metro, city busses, airport shuttles and sightseeing busses all converging. It is convenient to all the top tourist areas in the city; and within walking distance of the Champs d’Elysee, The Arc de Triomphe, all of the Grand Magasins (department stores) along Boulevard Haussman, Parc Monceau and the Gare-St. Lazare train station.
Most of the reviews that I have seen for this hotel tend to complain about the smallness of the rooms. I, too, thought that the rooms were all tiny, although for the price I had no problem with this. However on my last trip to Paris, I was placed in a single that was enormous! Quite frankly, I had no idea there were any singles this size. And as far as the complaints I’ve read of smells, noises and other unpleasantries, well, I’ve never experienced it. Perhaps I am just lucky or these were merely anomalies. All I can tell you is that my rooms have always been clean, smelled fine and I’ve never had any problems with noise except for the one time my room was facing the street and with that the usual street sounds.
This hotel does not have a restaurant however it does have a breakfast room of sorts in which a breakfast buffet is offered. This is not complementary and at 13 euros I usually skip it and opt for a croissant and café au lait at any of the many boulangeries in the area. The Bar des Luthiers is in the lobby and I must say that after a long day sightseeing and shopping, a relaxing drink with my fellow tourists is a welcome respite
The rooms have all the usual amenities: Cable/satellite TV, Telephone, Air conditioning, Hair dryer, Minibar, Wi-Fi (surcharge), Wheelchair accessibility, among other things. I want to stress that this hotel is very affordable! If you book directly through the Choice Hotels website (their parent company) you can get all sorts of room discounts, even better than the discount travel sites. I usually pay between 81 and 101 euros per night! If you are on a budget or just want a safe, clean and convenient hotel in Paris, this is the place!

Ausgezeichnetes Hotel!

Wir waren am Wochenende vom 9. - 12.11.2006 in diesem Hotel.
