This is our second Rome trip in 2 years and once again we stayed at the Cosmopolita hotel. Once again we booked a superior double room, but this time also an adjacent double (single use) for our grown up son.
Got a good deal for this 4 star hotel with 15% discount for staying over 3 days. Worked out to 125 euro per night for each room.
The hotel maintains its excellent standards and the front desk service is even better than before. Thank you all front desk staff! You were all very helpful. It makes all the difference.
The excellent breakfast with bacon, eggs and sausages is
exactly what we needed before a hard day of walking to & fro. Also good cappucino.
The location is very central and perfect for walking to most attractions. A taxi from here to most sights is about 6-7 Euro only.
Plenty of eating places nearby.
Elevators to all floors. Pleasant roof garden to relax.
Very comfortable bed and pillows. Air con works silently and well. Plenty of cupboard space.
Abosrbent bath towels, and shampoo . Powerful shower, just what we needed at the end of a sweaty day outdoors.
Booked rooms on the top floors and these were very quiet at night.
Maid service was perfect and toilets immaculately clean.
Safe box in room which was important for us. Security was tight with no access to the residential floors without a swipe card.
There is also computer access in the lounge for 3 Euro per hour. Used it for online check in for the journey back and to check our daily email .
Will certainly stay here again.

The location is, as everyone says, superb. The hotel is walking distance from all the sites bar the Vatican. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was good, the rooftop bar was pleasant if a little pricey.
The room was clean and was pleasant enough but with few frills - but this is to a certain extent reflected in the price.
Overall I'd recommend the hotel for the location if nothing else.

We're a family of three, my husband, myself and our 18 year-old daughter. We booked a tripple room for 4 nights at the Cosmopolita. The room was large and very clean. We did find the bathroom to be small and there was only one small armoire in the room to hang up our clothes; however, we didn't find these to be an inconvinience. Our room #308 was in a very quiet location and we did have a view when we looked "up" from the window. The weather was great and it was nice to sleep with the windows wide open and just the wooden shutters closed. The staff was courtious and helpful. The rooftop bar was a great place to sit and relax, have a drink and take in the sites.
The best part about the hotel was the location. In just about 10 to 15 minutes(or less)you were where you wanted to be. We saved alot of money on public transportation, because we walked everywhere. The only time we did not walk was when we visited the Vatican, but it is a doable walk if the weather is nice.
Breakfast was included, and it was very good. We had a light lunch at the hotel only on the first day we arrived. Within minutes there are so many wonderful places to eat ( especially in the Roman Ghetto). However, the several Cafes across the way are very overpriced and not that great, so try to aviod them.
When I return to Rome, I would not hesitate to stay at the Cosmopolita again. It was exactly what we were looking for.

After a lengthy search for a hotel in Rome it was defintiely the reviews from Trip Advisor that made our minds up for us. The Cosmopolita was a great choice. Hotel was in a fantastic location, literally minutes away from the Trevi fountain and Piazza Venezia. Rooms were clean and modern, cleaned every day with clean towels and toiletries. Most reviews seemed to focus on the size of the bathroom ?? it had a shower, toilet, sink & mirror, what more do you need ??? It was spotlessly clean and in my opinion that's more important than a huge dirty bathroom !! Staff were friendly, breakfast was good. lots of choice and fab coffee!
The Glass bar and restaurant which is attached to the hotel (its where you have breakfast) is really nice with good snacks and window seats for good people watching. The big parliament building around the corner from the hotel (approx 2 mins) has tour bus stops. I recommend the bright green one which runs every 15 minutes. We bought a 48 hour ticket for 23 euros, best thing we did. It gives you a chance to see where everything is so you can plan your routes, then get on and off at whichever stop you want. There's lots of walking when you get to an actual place of interest without killing yourself walking to it ! You get to see so much more on the bus and if the weather is good, so much the better. Would advise a guide at the Vatican, you whizz past the 2 hour queues and get a detailed explanation which means so much more once you see the Cistine Chapel. Ladies, keep the shoulders covered and anything else that shouldn't be on show or you won't get to see this magnificent work of art. Would defnitely stay here again and have already recommended it to a colleague.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in May 2008. The location is superb - it is easy to walk to all major sites of interest. Only the Vatican is a little further and is a short bus journey. The restaurant attached where breakfast is held is very good.
However, I can honestly say that this hotel had the smallest bath -sorry shower -room I have ever had in a hotel, and for the price it was a big disappointment. I even queried at the desk whether I had been given the superior room I had booked and was assured that I had been. When I queried what the difference was between the superior and the standard room I didn't get a clear answer but the difference seemed to be that we had a view. The view was of a busy street and the Nag's Head Scottish pub so I could probably have done without it. The street was noisy but the noise was not an issue once the window was closed. We were on the 4th floor though and if you're on a lower floor it might be a problem.
Perhaps all hotels in Rome are this overpriced and I'm being unfair but all things considered I would definitely not return.
