Stayed at the Buckerell Lodge Hotel for one night with work and it was very enjoyable experience.
The staff were very friendly, my room was obviously newly decorated and was stylish and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent at both dinner and breakfast.
i would definately stay there again and will be recommending it to the people in my office.

Although the hotel is not very well signposted, we called the hotel en route and the receptionist provided good directions. On arrival, check in was good and quick and they booked the cab we required for the following morning. The room was very clean, spacious and the bathroom was huge with a wonderful power shower. Good coffee/tea facilities and supply of toiletries. We had a meal on the first afternoon, which was very good and the breakfast which we had on both mornings was of equally high standard with a range of choices and very high quality. We simply cant find fault with our stay!

The room was without any character, you could have been in a moderate hotel room anywhere, no pictures of local interest, nothing with any Devon connection.
We had to ask for dinner rmenu in the bar, the bar staff handed us a lunch time bar snack menu ! I found the head waiter outside the front door relaxing and asked him for dinner menu and he said they were on table in resteraunt, help myself ! No order was taken from us and we found our own seats in the resteraunt. No one asked us if we wanted drinks with dinner or provided a wine list, I had to call head waiter to ask for drinks and even then no wine list was provided. The dinner was over priced, average and without any imagination at all.
Up to this point all the staff we had dealt with were forign, next morning the breakfast was superb, the staff were English, courtious and attentive unlike the reception robots. Would I stay again ? Not likely !

Visited the Hotel as part of our holiday trip to North Devon. This was a break on the journey and what a break. A lovely unassuming hotel wth helpful staff and great food. We had a great cooked breakfast for the two mornings we stayed with grilled tomatoes which tasted of tomato!!
Dinner in the evening was a suprising treat, delicious.
Accommodation looked newly refurbished and was very clean with good firm beds.
All in all a delightful Hotel matched by the beautiful weather and lovely day sightseeing in Exceter town centre.
