Stayed at the Atria whilst attending a conference in Bangalore for 4 nights and generally the hotel was ok. I have to say i was a little disappointed on arrival as it really doesnt look like the photo's and is a little off the beaten track - not many things are walking distance.
stayed in a lifestyle room, which has a fantastic bathroom and large samsung plasma tv...but the rest is quite dated.
facilties seem fine, strong and fairly cheap wireless.
for the price this is a fair hotel. we paid approximately ?115 a night, whereas all the branded hotels were upwards of ?190 a night.
Would i stay there again...i'd probably try and a better hotel but if the prices were as they are now, this would be the better option.

I had been warned by several people in India about Bangalore`s unrealistic price level as far as accomodation is concerned. Therefore I usually avoid to stay there and continue my journeys to Chennai where staying is way less expensive. This time I could not avoid two nights in Bangalore and I looked for a medium priced hotel. My choice was the Atria and - to advance my verdict: It was a good choice. When we arrived late at night the lobby did not impress me - it looked like any other standard hotel lobby. The checkin was fast and unbeaurocratic, my luggage was brought to my room within 5 Minutes and the room was spacious, extremely well appointed and very clean. The bathroom seemed to be remodeled lately and was clean as well. My nights were quiet (the hotel is in a relatively quiet neighborhood) and the breakfast was plentiful. The only negative point: the bed - it was a bit short for standard european sizes and hard like a rock. Nevertheless all over all I can fully reckommend this hotel for a short stay in Bangalore - and the best ist yet to come: Two nights including breakfast for less than 300 EUROS. A good deal indeed...

There is a shortage of good hotels in Bangalore due to economic growth, so the best ones are charging exhorbant nightly rates which has opened the door for two star hotels like the Atria Hotel to attract business travellers with lower rates. Hotel arrival was a non event. The lobby is large and looks like any other good size hotel in the US. The staff is friendly and appeared to bend over backwards in personal services to offset the marginal level of quality in hotel accomodations. The room I had was large enough and was for the most part well appointed. However, there was an unwelcome odor in the room which I tried to have addressed with the hotel who applied a room freshner. The air conditioning had no thermostat control so you either have to leave it running all night and freeze or shut it off. The bathroom was reasonably clean although the shower was not the cleanest and well worn. Breakfast was plentiful and a good selection of pastries, fruits and other breakfast items.
Most Indian hotels have taxi service which they manage with their own cars or have arranged with local operators. The advantage of using the hotel taxi is that you get the convenience of charging the taxi to your hotel bill, added security and comfort. This is partially true. At the Atria Hotel, they told me I had to pay the driver cash and on two successive occasions the taxi drivers tried to up the rates when we arrived at the destination. The hotel quoted me a flat rate for airport transfer of 385 rupees, but when I arrived at the airport the driver tried to charge me 550 rupees. After refusing to pay the higher fare and requesting he contact the hotel, the driver backed off but my caution is if you are going to use this hotel and it's taxi service be sure to ask the driver what he is going to charge before embarking on the trip to avoid problems.
So overall, a stay at the Atria was a mixed bag, and I would most definitely have to think twice before staying here again.

General: I wanted to like this hotel for what it was and I really tried. It was not that the staff did not care but they also did not try.
The hotel kitchen crew starts working about 4:00 and if you are on the street side of the hotel it seems to wake everyone especially on the first floor. While it is easy to sleep through the noise of the traffic when you a re asleep but if you are on the front and then awoken by the trash men. The straw that broke the camels back was the 03:30 wake up call by a pack of street dogs fighting and barking after thirty solid minutes under the window with the trash men four feet away doing nothing I called the front desk to ask if one of the several security guards could drive the dogs off. 15 solid minutes later I called again. Finally after thirty additional minutes I dressed went out into the Bangalore streets and drove off a pack of wild dogs after walking by the two sleeping guards and the sleeping desk clerk. Took about 15 minutes and three blocks to keep them from coming back barking the whole time. I am sure it was a heck of a site.
This is a lower end business class hotel that I would not stay at again but it is not terrible just is what it is.
