We have stayed at the Ssh Hotel in Tunbridge several times whilst visiting relatives in the area, our most recent visit being June 2008. The hotel is great as a base for exploring the town and surrounding area. Staff are really helpful, rooms impeccably clean and comfortable and breakfast is great with lots of choice for fresh fruit, cheeses, meats etc. I would recommend this hotel for its efficient no fuss approach, level of comfort and friendly staff.

In a world of leaking bathrooms, chintz, nothing but fry-ups for breakfast and surly staff, the Smart and Simple hotel is a welcome change. Service is reliably good, courteous and relaxed. Breakfast is continental -lots of healthy choices, it is what you make of it. The restaurant is a room which looks out over a rockery garden and when the sun shines it really is beautiful. Rooms vary in size (I have stayed in three now), from the quite small to the very comfortable, but all I have stayed in are acceptable for one or two people. Two points worth noting. Firstly, parking provision is minimal. You can park your car, but it is not in a designated car park and that is not particularly convenient. On the other hand, the hotel is walking distance from the railway station, and traffic in Tunbridge Wells is horrible anyway. Secondly, the rooms at the back of the hotel are much quieter than the front. If you prefer to have your window open at night, the traffic noise in the morning is noticeable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as very good value for money and a pleasure to stay in.

What can I say - A beautiful garden seating area where they bring you a nice glass of wine - and free wireless internet.
They are really trying hard to make a name for themselves, the breakfast was DIVINE!
Room was a little small but terrifically comfortable, I lucked out once again with a garden view room on the first floor (#4).
Staff was incredibly helpful and polite, food (I had dinner there one night) was eclectic and not too expensive. I was picked up for work so I don't know how close to other forms of transportation, but within walking distance to the town itself and shopping, pubs etc.. etc..
Overall, a WONDERFUL experience.
