spent 2 days at this hotel and found the accomidation not bad, but was told that they were haveing a refurb soon it needed it in some places ,we found it to be a charming hotel, with very attentive staff who have time for the custormers the food wasof a very resonable price and plenty of it though some of the menu was bourght in, even so it was of high quality it came very quickly which at some places you have to wait ages between causes overall i would recomend this hotel and i will return next time we go to cornwall

Head office booked this hotel whilst I was conducting training for the week as it was not far to go- they will however NOT be using the Manor again for accomodation. The reception is not manned permanently by anybody so you keep pressing the bell and are left to stand there waiting to check in and out or request another room as I did. My room was in the attic so I thought it would be lovely and warm. How wrong I was. The room had an electric heater that was not sufficient to heat the room. The bathroom was big but no heating at all, no hot water for a shower and what water there was dribbled out. I requested another room but there was only one single room available. There was however a radiator in this room but it was not hot, you could keep your hand on it. All the raditors were the same so I can only presume that the boiler needed turning up by a few notches. Luckly I borrowed a heater from the branch I was using for the training otherwise I would have frozen to the spot. Its not a joke even with my PJ's, socks and a hoody on I was so cold. The decor was extremely shabby all over the hotel, carpets thred bare and the place needed a really good clean. It is just too big for a small team to manage. The bar had a TV screen that I was told could only have the sports channel playing despite the fact that I was dinning with my female collegue (she used to work in the hotel trade for years and wa sshocked) and nobody else was in the bar. Again you had to ring a bell for attention. The food was greasy and microwaved. The daily specials did not change the four nights we were unfortune to have eaten on site. I would not recomend anybody staying here.

I was advised by the Olde English Inn booking agent to ask for a room in the annex of the hotel. I wished I'd read the reviews before booking but, unfortunately, I booked on the morning of our trip and didnt have time to check Trip Advisor. The room was dreary, one wall painted a hideous shade of brown. The furniture was ancient and slightly sticky!! Our view was the local magistrates court and a multistorey car park. The floor creaked so loudly that if one of us was walking about the other couldnt hear the tv. I cant imagine how loud it must sound in the downstairs rooms. We decided to stay for evening meal. As we were first there our orders were taken straight away by the lovely waitress. The meals arrived in less than 5 minutes. A bit too quick for chicken curry and a lamb shank. They were very obviously microwaved. Decided not to order dessert.
On the plus side, it only takes a minute to walk into Yeovil. Handy if you decide not to have breakfast in the hotel. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and the main part of the hotel looked quite nice. However, we wouldnt stay here again because of the horrible room.

We booked this hotel as a central location for visit some of the local places of interest - it is also walking distance of the town centre. Through their central reservations we were advised to stay in the annexe as the main hotel can be a bit noisy when there are wedding receptions held there. Our room was basic but comfortable - although the bathroom could have been cleaner. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening as we arrived quite late. The food was very average. Breakfast was good with the usual selection of fruits yoghurts and cereals and a hearty fry-up. The staff were very pleasant. All-in-all a slightly better experience than the two reviews from 2005!
