My husband and I stayed at The Hilton Belfast to celebrate my birthday last weekend and we had the most fabulous time!
We have eaten in the Sonma Restaurant on numerous occasions and list it as one of our most favourite places in Belfast to dine....the food is wonderful and the staff are professional, friendly, courteous and cheerful.
Check In was fast and cheerful and we were upgraded to an Executive Room when the Receptionist realised it was my birthday.
After visiting the Victoria Centre (almost on the Hiltons doorstep and worth a visit)....we returned to our room ( which had stunning views over Belfast)....to find a Birthday card from the staff along with some scrummy handmade chocolates!!! Such a wonderful gesture which was very much appreciated.
The hostess in the Executive Lounge was a lovely charming girl who made us feel very welcome and was very attentive.
Dinner was superb as usual...a lovely romantic table looking out over the Lagan and the restaurant staff surprising me with more handmade choclates rounded off a great birthday evening for me.
The Hilton Buffet Breakfast is delicious and varied. As we were treated so well by all members of staff we have booked again to stay in the near future.
Well done to all staff in Hilton Belfast for their excellent customer service.

The Hilton is perfect location if attending an event in the Odyssey being a 10 minute walk at most. We were delighted with the hotel overall - the room was large, bright and clean with comfy bed and nice flat screen tv. The reception staff (especially Karen) were great. We ate in the bar before the concert and they had a good menu if you are just looking for something quick and simple (spring rolls, wings, burgers etc). The breakfast the next morning was buffet - the hot food was only ok and we had to beg a number of times for tea and coffee as our waiter was completely useless. But that was the only complaint we had overall and would definately stay there again if attending something in the Odyssey.

Try the Days Inn!

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a night alone in the 5* Hilton - we would have been better booking into the Days Inn! We were given a room with a view of the back of the Waterfront Hall, no view of river as requested. The bath had no hand rail for assisting disabled in getting out. The sink plug closer was broken, the bedside lamp had been sprayed with coke and hadn't been cleaned nor had the stainless steel of the table or lamp which had thick layers of dust on them.
We had a drink in the bar were the staff were pleasant but 3 locals were seated at the end of the bar playing "orange" anthems on their mobiles - very intimidating and not challenged by staff.
If you are a tourist try another hotel as I wouldn't want you to get the wrong impression of the Northern Irish hospitality.

This hotel is in what I would imagine is an up and coming area of Belfast. It's a fair walk to any restaurant or pub.
There are few options in Belfast but if you are looking for lodging near nightlife this is not the place.
