the view of the canal is breathtaking. the servi ce was excellent, the hilton executive floor is very nice, but the rooms are a bit small. you will not find a nicer hotel in venice, this is the best i have seen. the breakfast in the morning is amazing and good. I really felt the luxury. the pool is the envy of all of the city and fantastic on the roof.
there is a 30 pence a minute fee for internet acess, only one computer is in the lobby and if you have to do business on it, good luck. you will spend 15 euros an hour, when they should give you this free in a hotel that charges 350 euros a night.

This is an awesome hotel. Everything is new, and sparkling clean. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Can't say enough about it, everything exceded our expectations.
The location on the Island of Giudicia, across from San Marcos Square, is not a problem. Free shuttle boats run back and forth from the hotel every 15 minutes. It was not a problem at all.
The only problem we encountered was that they were having some kind of difficulty with the swimming pool.
Food and drinks are very expensive in this hotel, so we just avoided that.
We were going to ride the Aliguana(water bus) from the airport to San Marcos Square. The cost was 25 Euros each; however, we negotiated a water taxi for 95 Euros total for four of us. That was definately the way to go. We had heard the water taxi's were 80 Euros each, but found differently when we arrived. It may change when things get more crowded during the summer.
Our technique for street vendors and gondola's. First have the exact change ready, then make an offer and show the money, when the vendor counters your offer tell them it's all you have then turn and walk away. We paid 80 Euros for a nice gondola ride, that after being told it was 120.

I think this hotel does, indeed have two classes of rooms. They dump the small ones onto Priceline, and these have less of the amenities of the regular rooms.
We booked two rooms, and were given one with a king sized bed, and one with twins. The couple we were with took the first king and got a small room. We insisted on a king and were given a different room.
Our new room was in a back section of the hotel and our view was of a brick wall twenty feet from our window. We couldn't see the ground, the sky, a canal or anything from our window other than the brick wall.
We were given some water bottles on our bedside tables. The other couple was not.
The food in the hotel was prohibitively expensive.
The remote had no batteries.
We requested a scissors to open a package and were promised one would be sent up. Never came.
Our safe got stuck shut. I had to fiddle with it for a half an hour to get it open.
The staff was pretty good overall. One of the concierges was very helpful...the other was hostile and rude.
Having AC on a hot July day in Venice was nice. We only paid $230 per night, using Priceline. I think this was a pretty good deal given the dollar's exchange rate. But if it were possible, for the same price, to stay at a 3 star hotel with AC on the main islands, I would have preferred that.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this Hilton property and we'd return in a heartbeat. We thought the hotel was excellent. I suspect the previous reviewer has hit the nail on the head - if you book through Priceline (or similar) you get one of the smaller rooms. We chose to book on the Hilton website and we were allocated a very nice room overlooking the front of the hotel. Maybe the rooms aren't as luxurious as say a Four Seasons or as sophisticated as a Rocco Forte hotel but then you're not paying Four Seasons prices (even when booking on the Hilton website).
We found the staff to be charming, friendly and helpful. Every request we made of the hotel (from room service and housekeeping to the front desk and concierge) was met with efficiency and a smile.
The hotel shuttle boat to the Piazza San Marco is a real treat each day and we were able to come and go as we pleased by using either the hotel shuttle or the vaporetto (which is a real plus as the main island becomes incredibly crowded and congested during the day.)
If you can, try and get a room in the Arsenale at the front of the hotel overlooking the main waterway (not the side canal). Yes there are problems with noise intrusion in these rooms (which Hilton needs to take a serious look at improving) but then that's part and parcel of staying in a converted flour mill with wooden floors, open beamed ceilings and cast iron columns. Not your standard Hilton!
Food and drink at the hotel are expensive but there are cheaper options a few minutes stroll away. If you fancy a simple pasta dish or salad with a glass of wine head for the little cafe on the waterfront just beyond the Palanca zaporetto stop - great for lunch or just a drink. We also followed a previous reviewers recommendation and tried the Ristorante San Trovaso just a few minutes walk from the Zattere hilton shuttle boat stop - great for dinner with food and drinks less than half the price charged in the hotel.
The Hilton has a fantastic rooftop pool and indoor spa with a good range of treatments. As previously mentioned the rooftop bar has stunning views - a real must for a chilled glass of prosecco.
All in all we found the hotel to be everything we could have wanted and more. If you fancy a special trip to what must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world then you could do much worse (and spend much more) than stay at the Molino Stucky Hilton.

The Hilton Molino Stucky is a relatively new/renovated hotel located on Guidecca Island. Guidecca ia a short boat ride (very frequent private hotel shuttle, or nearby vaporetto station) from St.Marc and everything else that Venice has to offer.
The hotel is an old (pasta?) factory and Hilton did a good job of integrating elements of the factory with the very modern look and feel of this hotel. Funny enough though, the wood beams ceilling made me more feel like I was vacationning at "The Great Canadian Lodge" rather than being in Venice!
The rooms are of reasonable size and you get great views from the rooftop bar or pool (you need to reserve in advance to get access to the pool). I had access to the executive lounge during my stay which offered a reasonable assortment of food for breakfast. The food offering is rather light for the remainder of the day but was still a nice place to go and relax to grab a quick bite before dinner. A good thing - those who have lounge access can also enjoy a "full breakfast" at the Hotel's restaurant for free.
The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. I actually liked the fact that the hotel was not in the main area of Venice as it actually allows you to have a great view of Venice every time that you step out of the hotel. Food options on Guidecca are somewhat limited (dinner time) as it is less of a tourist area but there are a few spots that seves decent food.
One thing to note - Although all rooms have AC, the very high humidity in Venice may something make it feel as if AC is not working or is not powerful enough. Although we were comfortable throughout our stay, most papers left in the room became very damp and it was nearly impossible to dry clothing.
