Wenn Sie harte Betten mögen, dann wird es Ihnen im Hilton Dortmund gefallen. Wir haben uns auf den Betten dort zwei Nächte lang hin- und hergeworfen. Meine Frau sagte: „Ich habe schon auf einer Parkbank komfortabler geschlafen.“ Sonst entsprach das Hotel dem Standard eines Hilton. Schöne Bar. Man bekam auch beim Einchecken einen Rabattgutschein für die Bar (zwei Freigetränke und 20% Rabatt). Es liegt nahe eines Parks und der Autobahn. Die Strecke ins Zentrum rein war nicht so schön, aber in der Nähe gibt es eine U-Bahnstation. Haben dort nicht gefrühstückt. Das Hallenbad sah gut aus, wir haben es aber nicht benutzt.

Wir waren nur für zwei Nächte dort, weil ich über Easyjet einen Flug für 15 Euro bekommen hatte. Wir hatten eine Suite für 180 Euro/Nacht, ein wenig teuer, aber dafür war ja der Flug so billig. In Dortmund kann man ganz okay shoppen und sich so die Zeit vertreiben. Wir sind auch ein paar Kilometer durch die Stadt gelaufen, was ganz schön war. Wenn Sie geschäftlich in Dortmund zu tun haben, dann kann ich Ihnen das Hotel empfehlen. Der Pool war sehr gut, der Fitnessraum okay – ideal nach einem langen Arbeitstag. In der Bar wurde gutes Bier ausgeschenkt und das Personal war ganz freundlich. Das Zimmer war super, in Großbritannien müsste man für ein ähnliches Zimmer mehrere hundert Euro zahlen. Nicht superluxuriös, aber die 180 Euro/Nacht wert. Frühstück kostete allerdings 20 Euro extra. Nicht gerade billig, daher sollte man nur sehr hungrig dorthin gehen, damit man sein Geld wieder rausbekommt. Ansonsten kann man auch außerhalb des Hotels für ein paar Euro frühstücken gehen (20 Minuten ins Zentrum). Ach ja, von unserem Zimmer konnten wir auch aufs Stadium blicken. Also eine exzellente Lage, wenn Sie sich ein Spiel ansehen wollen. Dortmund hatte an dem Wochenende leider ein Auswärtsspiel...

Booked a two night stay just because I went with easyjet for £10 return, we had a suite for about £120 a night, a little expensive but the flight was cheap. Shopping in dortmund is ok, killed a few hours, went for a good few miles walk around the city, all very nice. If your on business in dortmund, i'd stay here, pool very good, gym ok, just what you need after the end of the day. Decent bar staff serving some very good german lager, everyone very friendly. And re the above the room was exceptional, in the uk in london you would pay several hundred for the room we had. Not overly luxurious but well worth the £120 a night I paid for us both. Breakfast was extra though at €20 each not cheap, make sure you go for a good work out first and can eat your monies worth, otherwise just pop out for a walk (about 20 mins into town) and get a bite to eat for a couple of euros. Oh and and as it happens our room looked out onto the dortmund statium so excellent if you ever go to a game, dortmund were playing away the weekend we were there, shame.....

If you like firm beds, you'll love the Hilton Dortmund. We spent two agonizing nights there tossing and turning in bed. As my wife remarked, "I've slept more comfortably on a park bench." Otherwise the hotel was up to Hilton standards. Nice bar. Discount coupon for bar (two free drinks and 20% off) given upon check-in. The location is near a park and highway. Not a pleasant walk into downtown Dortmund, but U-Bahn station nearby. (Did not have breakfast there. Indoor pool looked nice, but also did not use.)
