Don't get me wrong, as the Hilton Arc de Triomphe Hotel was definitely better than most I have stayed in in France, but then again you would come expect this from a "Category Six" ranked Hilton Hotel. As such, you would come expect that your experience would be superb and with out worry or issues, but this was not the case I experienced.
I checked into the hotel and initially I was offered only a standard room! French language difficulties were of no concern as almost all staff speak English fluently even if you try to converse in French. For the record, I am Hilton Honors Gold member and I booked this trip using my Hilton Honors points at a cost of 120,000 points or 40,000 points a day. I insisted that I be offered a room on the Executive level, and I was accommodated, but I felt that I should not have had to ask for what had already been reserved.
Upon arriving at my room the air conditioner did not work. Once again I felt that this should have been checked out ahead of my arrival. Needless to say, I had visit the concierge on the executive floor to be relocated to yet another room.
The Executive/Hilton Honors floor rooms are nicely decorated and quite comfortable, but the beds do have a single sheet, but a duvet instead. On hot days (July is humid), I had to request that a sheet be added below the duvet.
Everything in Paris is quite expensive, so it was a real pleasant experience, unlike the US, to know that the Executive Lounge is stocked with snacks and food at certain times on the day. It is possible to actually eat a full breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Executive Lounge if you choose.
Praise:
1. Definitely a better hotel that what is available elsewhere in Paris. For the price you pay you are left comparing actual value perceived versus high expense.
2. The staff in the Purple Bar is outstanding and fluent in English.
Criticisms:
1. TIP: Housekeeping staff tend NOT to knock, but walk right in, unless your door is locked or you have the DO NOT DISTURB sign up.
2. The staff in the Executive Lounge demonstrate a bit of an arrogant attitude, and this just shouldn't be the case, especially since most of those hotel guests are Hilton Honors members.
A. I found one Executive Lounge waiter joking about another guest which is entirely unprofessional.
B. Another Executive Lounge waiter handed me a fork by fork end and not the handle. He looked upset when I asked him for a different fork. Then I informed him that I am a sommelier by profession, and he should have known better.
3. The hotel staff service is definitely better than most other hotels, but it certainly is not the best I experienced on my two week trip to France.
Had I not booked this stay using my Hilton Honors points, I would have been very disappointed if I would have had to pay for hotel stay as it was not exceptional by any means.

This hotel is a gem--being in Paris, it is safe to say that staying in an american hotel is your best bet because the french can be condescending to Anericans. The service at this hotel couldn't have been any better. We arrived and the terrace lunch restaurant was full, but Sarah, this woman that works at the hotel and helped to accomodate us during our entire stay, made us an extra table just so that we could eat in the gardens. When our room was finally ready, we were thankful to have an elevator to carry our luggage up without a hassel. Our room was gorgeous--very moden Paris--and the bathroom was like every other hilton in that it had a great bath/shower (a giant wonderful tub) and came equipt with bath robes. Breakfast comes with your stay and feel blessed that breakfast is as extensive as it is because in many other htoels you'll find that a toast and tea is all you are served. They had a chef making fresh crepes, pancakes, and omlettes that were delicious and had a variety of other delicious goodies. The concierge at the hotel was wonderfully helpful, and also, the hotel had a transport every hour to the other hilton hotel by the eiffel tower so you could be a short jaunt to the eiffel tower. Also, it is simply a short walk to the arch de triomph.

My family and I just retuned from a 10 day trip to London, Paris and Normandy. We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Waldorf before taking the Eurostar to Paris and staying at the Arc De Triomphe Paris; we can not say enough good things about this hotel! The hotel itself is onyl 5 years old...the lobby is very impresive with large crystal chandeliers and a beautiful sitting area!
Upon checking in we were quickly given our rooms which included breakfast. The hotel's decor is inspired by the glamou of the Normandy ship andother grand transatlantic ships. The rooms, beds and amenities are all very comfortable with housekeeping twice a day. Breakfast each moring consisted of omlettes, panckaes and others eggs made to order in addition to pastries, fruit, lunch meats and other breakfast items. It was very plentiful each morning. One night after a long day of sight seeing we decided to take dinner in the adjoing patio restuatrant off the lobby. It was wondeful and the service was very top notch.
The location of this hotel is within a 5 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe...take a left and another left when leaving the hotel! Two blocks from the hotel (to the right) is a grocery store for regular items such as water and any forgotten toilteries.
The hotel staf was great! We were always greeted with a hello Sir or Maam and everyone was kind. The concierge staff was very helpful with directions. During our stay we had rented a car at Budget...long story short the car caught fire only a few blocks from the rental place! We qucikly retunred the car to Budget to find out that was there last car of th day and that we wer eout of luck! We quickly contacted the hotel concierge and they arranged for a Mercedes Van to be delivered to the hotel within a half hour. They saved our weekend to Bayex and Omaha Beach! While we were gone they haeld our luggage!
We had a great stay!
