I stayed at the Nottingham Hilton for one night in June as I was sitting exams in Nottingham the following day.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, probably the most hospitable hotel staff I have encountered, to be honest.
I had booked a single room, which was a good size. The bed was large, either a double or a 3/4 size. Ample room for one person. The bed was comfortable too.
The bathroom, and indeed, the entire room, was spotless.
I couldn't find fault with the cleanliness, so even ran a finger across the top of a mounted picture on the wall hoping to catch them out, but no!
It was also pretty quiet. No loud voices, slamming doors, traffic noise. It was really peaceful.
My only grumbles really, are firstly, ventilation. It wasn't a hot day, but even so, I love to be nice and cool, and particularly, have some fresh air. There was no air con, and although the window opened, it promptly slid shut again, being so big and heavy.
There was a large desk fan, which I ended up putting on all night, but even so, it wasn't like having the window open.
Secondly, in the bathroom, no matter how long as ran the cold tap, it ran warm. Given that the bathroom tap ends up being your drinking water supply when you stay in a hotel, this wasn't very nice.
I would definitely stay here again though. The cleanliness, friendly staff, and peace and quiet was lovely.

We booked our stay through lastminute.com for a one night stay in May. Arrived at the hotel and all seemed well (nice reception, great central location etc), that was until we got to our room. It would appear that this hotel has recently had a part refurbishment but it would appear that they have not refurbished all of the rooms. Unfortunately for us we had one of the older rooms.
The room was comfortable but in a terrible state of repair. The ceiling was stained, the windows were filthy, the floorboards were loose and the fan in the room was caked in filth. Even the decor seemed tired.
We took advantage of the on site swimming pool which was ok but still a bit of a let down considering the strong brand of the Hilton group.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel at all, there are far better and cheaper hotels in central Nottingham. Try one of the budget chains.
I did complain and received a full refund but really I shouldnt have had to bring these matters to the attention of the hotel in the first place and feel that this hotel really lets down the rest of the Hilton group.

After reading some of the reviews on this site I was extremely apprehensive about our stay at the Hilton. I had arranged a family get-to-together and had booked eleven rooms for our stay. From the moment we arrived the staff did their utmost to make our stay brilliant. Nothing was too much for them, in fact they went out of their way to do things for all the residents.
My room was on the 5th floor, a double de-luxe, which was lovely with a nice big bathroom. Everything was spotless.
Although there were people staying on hen/stag nights there was very little noise, and certainly no building work noise.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good and the service was excellent. The only criticism I could make is about the chocolate profiteroles - please use dark chocolate!!!!!
The breakfast choices were excellent and you could have as much as you wanted.
The hotel is in a great location for visiting the usual visitor attractions and also for the shops.
Overall our stay was brilliant and I would certainly stay there again.

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, compared to the mixed reviews on here. We shared a triple (family deluxe) room between 3 adults - room was nice and spacious, comfortable beds, everything very clean, and fairly peaceful, certainly no street noise despite central location. Some of the other guests were there on stags etc but we didn't get disturbed, luckily. The pool was lovely and the steam and sauna were nice and hot! Service was slightly flaky but friendly and welcoming.

The Hilton is in a great central location and all the public areas are great - modern and clean.
My room wasn't as impressive. Despite being described as a deluxe it was in an annex - no lift to this bit - come out of the lift at the 5th floor, go round a couple of corners, up a couple of flights of stairs. As soon as you went through the doors to the 6th floor the whole decor changed - old carpet, faded walls etc. The room was OK but not what I was expecting (although there was a nice flatscreen tv). I imagine the rest of the hotel has been updated and decorated but not this bit.
The staff were very good and professional. And even though my morning shower was disrupted by a fire alarm (out in the street in my dressing gown and slippers is always an entertaining start to the day) this was soon resolved.
I'd stay here again. But definitely not on the 6th floor!
