Shocking

I have had the misfortune to stay here several times over the last 7 years. I wont be back. I still have a huge problem getting charged to park in the hotel car park. It was never busy before they started charging so why the need to charge for an out of town car park is disgusting.
The hotel rooms are well passed their sell by date. Dark, dingy, noisy, cold and unatractive.
The food in the restaurant is very poor for the price and service in the bar is awful.
I am struggling to find something pleasant about this hotel, it is very poor and certainly no credit to the Hilton brand

My Fiancee and I recently stayed at the Hilton Treetops on a special offer break that we booked in the paper. We had upgraded to a Deluxe Plus room as no standard rooms were available which was disappointing however he room was extremely spacious with a computer and a large bathroom. we had to wait a short while to check in as it was a busy time when we arrived long with a wedding party. Dinner was included on the first night of the offer and the meal and service in the restaurant was excellent, one of the best meals we have ever had in a hotel and we have stayed in quite a few hotels over the past year. The service at the bar was good but did get busy later with the wedding party. we went to the leisure club in the morning and the pool was out of order on that day but it looked nice, the gym was really good and no too busy.

I stayed at the Treetops during Easter Holidays with my husband and 2 young children. The first room we were allocated was a family room which was quite noisy and not suitable for us but we asked to speak to the manager and he promptly moved us to another room which was actually 2 rooms which interconnected which was perfect for us. The children enjoyed the swimming pool and the leosure centre staff were very friendly. We had dinner in the Bar Bacoa resturant which was pleasant and the waiting staff were very helpful. There was a magician performing in the resturant which kept the kids entertained when we were waiting for our meals. I would go back to the Treetops again but would make sure that i booked the interconnecting room and not the family room.

If this review had been about a standard hotel at a standard price then it would have been rated as 'above average', however, Hilton charge a premium and accordingly i think it's fair to assume that people expect a little bit more than merely 'average'.
Firstly, if i'm paying over ?150 a night i don't expect to have to pay for parking (and they have it down to a fine art as they will even 'validate' your ticket for you and charge it to your bill). It's not as if the hotel is anywhere near the city centre either and i can't imagine them having many problems with other people using their car park - so i can only assume it's another way of scamming everyone for a few more ?.
Second, the staff on reception, even when not particularly busy, aren't particularly attentive.
The food in the restaurant is average, however, the menu is definitively unimaginative. The starters came within minutes and had definitely been siting in a 'fridge waiting to be served. The food itself wasn't terrible - but hardly value for money.
The room itself was spacious and clean.
Overall, it's an average hotel. I don't think i'd stay there again and i'd rather search for an alternative hotel to spend the money on.

I was a bit worried because after I booked this hotel I read the reviews which all seemed a bit negative. However we paid ?59 for the room per night for two nights. This included the room, dinner on the first night, a full hilton buffet breakfast for both days and full use of the swimming pool and lesuire facilities. I agree the room was rather small and very dated which is not the norm with other hilton hotels but this is why the price is cheap!! The room was clean and everything in there functioned correctly. I thought it was fantastic value for the money. All the staff were very polite and gave up thier time when possible to talk to you.
If you stay at this hotel please be aware that it is 2miles from Aberdeen train station but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel and the taxis to the station is around ?8. If you go to the airport the taxis fair is around ?17
After reading the other reviews I only would have the same opinion as them if I had paid full price for the room. But at ?59 a night for DBB there s no excuse for anybody to complain. If you are use to luxary hiltons then pay the normal hilton rate and stay in the junior suites! At this hotel they are only about ?90 a night.!!
You ony get what you pay for and in this hotel you get superb value!
