We booked a 3 day break with Legoland holidays and we had a wonderful stay at the Hilton, Basingstoke.
We had a family room which consisted of a large double bed and a sofa bed which was already made up when we arrived.
The bathroom was nice and clean and had plenty of freebies.
The room was clean and nicely furnished and the decor was good.
I'd read some mixed reviews on hear but must say the legoland reviews come out really good. Not sure if this is because these will usually involve a family room so a Plaza Room is provided?
The restaurant was great and the kids ate & drank free. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choices and plenty of food.
My only critisism would be the children's menu on an evening as not all kids eat chicken nuggets and fish fingers every night!
The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be freindly with the kids which to me is a big thing.
Will definitely be staying here again when we visit legoland again next year.

I stay here occasionally when I do business in Basingstoke. I'd much rather stay elsewhere, but as is often the case when travelling on business, I opt for the path of least resistance.
The positives:
* staff are all very friendly and courteous.
* English breakfast is decent.
* The offer (albeit overpriced) internet access.
* They are walking distance to the shopping center/top of town. Many good food options await if you are willing to walk half a mile (or take a cab).
* There's a bar, and usually there are friendly people there.
The negatives:
* Outside of breakfast, the food is rubbish.
* The whole hotel has a dingy/drab feel to it.
I don't really like this place, but I guess I don't really have too many bad things to say about it.

The good: the service and quality of food in the restaurant, the bed
The bad: tiny gym, no elevator, location,
The ugly: the noisy creaky floorboards, staff at reception, the whole town of Basingstoke
What a depressing stay. This is a motel and not a very good one. Diamond members are offered a "bottle of wine" (1/2 bottle of plonk) and "a fruit basket" (two apples on a plate), Don't expect a free breakfast. They said they do not participate fully in the program.
The heating is a uncontrollable, the windows dont open, the TV is small (remote control back was missing), the closet is tiny, the water pressure in the shower was a joke.
Avoid this Hilton unless you really need the points and stay credits.

We went to legoland on a 2 day deal and stayed in this hotel. We found the service to be of a good standard as were the rooms. My only criticisum was the prices charged at the bar. We found the rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent with a wide range of food available. I would go back. If you are visiting lego land then I would recommend using a satnav as it was 30 miles from the hotel and was quite difficalt to find from the hotel.

Just returned from a 1 night stay with my son.
Firstly, booked an inexpensive room rate through flybmi.com. I normally use the hilton website, but had just joined their loyalty scheme.
Booked a family room, requested an upgrade as a diamond, but not available in this type of room.
The room was large for us, bed each, typical hilton decor- and I have to say there was nothing wrong with it- need to balance out things a bit I feel here. Also, for the ?50 night I paid for it- you pay that for a travelodge- my hilton room was much better.
Front desk staff were great, my son was ill and staff were helpful. As a diamond, we got wine/ fruit/ chocs/ water in room and a free breakfast for no room upgrade- very fair I think.
WIll return here whenever in the area, ok it isnt the Waldorf hilton but I like it!
