Stayed at the Hilton for three nights for a conference, the (standard) room was comfortable and the bathroom particularly nice with a large walk in shower. The staff were generally helpful though obviously stressed with the hotel being fully booked.Breakfast was good. As usual the internet was charged as an extra. Did not get a chance to try out the pool and gym but they looked very good.

If you're travelling to Cardiff the Hilton is the only choice. Location is absolutely perfect! The Castle is across the street, and if you're as lucky as I am you can see it from your room! National Museum is across the street, shopping district directly behind the hotel, walking distance to almost everything...and what you can't walk to..the bus runs directly in front of the hotel.
Service was spectacular! For a large hotel the personal service was impressive, from the doorman in the top hat, to the front desk staff, restaurant staff... everyone was fantastic. Rooms were large and spacious and fully equipped with everything you need.

Had booked a cheap rate for a two-night stay about two months in advance. Hotel was easy to find after a 5-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station. After a warm welcome by the reception staff we entered our room which was nicely furnished and facing a quiet backyard.
Before leaving for dinner we asked the concierge about bus and train times leaving Cardiff for the airport at about 05.30h the next morning. The concierge told us that there were definitely no trains as Cardiff Airport had no train station. He called National Express (!) to find out about possible buses for the 12 mile ride to the airport. Surely National Express was not operating the route. One of the other gentlemen working at the concierge's desk presented a print-out showing a bus timetable for Sundays and Bank Holidays with the first departure at 08.30h. According to him this would also be valid on the next morning (Thursday). As we were not quite satisfied with this response we tried to get access to the internet at the hotel's business centre but were not willing to pay the extraordinary amounts charged for a few minutes. We ended up walking to the station again and bought tickets in advance for the train leaving at 05.41h the next morning with a quick adjoining 5 minute bus transfer to the airport. I could not believe that the staff in one of Cardiff's finer hotels were completely unable to find out more about transportation to the airport.
We returned with a rental car the next evening and as Cardiff has not many cheap car parks to offer for those who are unfamiliar with the city we decided to use the hotel's valet parking for 15.00 GBP a night. When checking out the next morning I received my bill and off we went. Unfortunately I discovered today that Hilton Cardiff has taken an additional 30.00 GBP from my credit card. I had to call them to resolve this issue and was promised an immediate refund.
Overall I would recommend this hotel because of it's location and the nice rooms but would advise anybody to carefully re-check recommendations and statements given by the hotel staff.

It is definitely in need of updating, but nevertheless, room had everything you'd expect, great leisure facilities, service with a smile and views of the castle.
Having spent a number of years in Cardiff, I can't think of a hotel with a better location close to the shops and the stadium/castle. My only grumble was that I couldn't find a deal that included breakfast, and when I asked at reception the quote of ?17.95 per person was returned!! Hence, we went into town for something.
The parking charge was ok, but when we stayed at the St David's Hotel and Spa in the bay the following night, for the same valet parking service for overnight, we only paid ?5, opposed to ?15 at the Hilton.
Overall, I would stay again, possibly the biggest reason being a huge bathroom!!
