Smooth reservation. Pick up arranged by the hotel showed up too late, I took a taxi. Nice room on the renovated Corniche floor. Be advised only one floor is renovated and thats the C-floor. All you need in your room is there. Good and well appointed bathroom, perfect bed ( only 2 singles on C-floor ), very good working airco ( silent ) and well working internet (80 AED 24 hrs)
Pool on the 19th floor, small with nice gym and sauna. Breakfast ok but not great. Waiters, cleaners, etc very friendly and polite. Not fancy, not trendy but very clean.

Basic Hotel
Guest name: FashionPrima, Abu Dhabi
The hotel is located right on the Chornishe Road where you can have a nice walk. The rooms of the hotel very basic but nicely designed, very clean and comfortable. They do have a gym facilities as well as swimming pool on the top roof - pool though quite small. Front desk staff professional and responsive.

I must say after my last ordeal with the Howard Johnson's inefficiency this hotel was real treat. Staff overall were polite and attentive although I couldn't say much on the receptionist on duty that night (but the rest of them were just charming). They had me located in the new floor which was called the Corniche floor. The beds were well made and changed everyday. Bathroom was always spotless and they refilled my toiletries the third day eventhough I still had the old ones half full. TV shows were enough to keep me in the room. And I just loved the temperature of the room... it was cold without freezing.
The view, lets put it this way.. if you a writer and you need to be inspired than just open wide your curtain and you'll see the lives of human in the other side of the building which is very close to your window by the way.
Food.. hmm.. I'm picky and fussy when it comes to expensive food. When it's cheap (or free) i don't really care how it taste but when I have to pay over AED20 for a plate of Nasi Goreng.. I was tempted to tell the chef at The Hampton to Not call it 'Nasi Goreng'. Call if 'Fried Rice' or any other language because where I came from those nasi goreng The Hamptons (that what they call their restaurant) made for me were usually cooked by my Soy-Sauce-addicted little brother.
Location.. You may need to walk a little further to get into a busy business area where you could walk and find things to shop for. The hotel is located behind a building and the nearest fast food would be the Pizza Hut. But it is very near the corniche all you have to do is to cross over the busy street.
Taxis are not that difficult to get if you walked a little bit further up. The hotels do not really hail your taxis for you even though they said they could make an arrangment for you. If you are here on business the best is to get up early to beat the other passengers.
But overall.. I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again. I liked it when people open the doors for you and helped you to push the elevator's button unasked. But you need to make sure you are going on the booked date because they'll charge your card on the time of booking and its non refundable.

Warning bells started to ring two weeks prior to our stay when the hotel only received a booking for one room in our name. we booked two rooms. I was told to email reservations, which I did but never heard back. I contacted undercovertourist.com and they followed up the confirmation of the second room for us also. We were told that we had two rooms cross referenced under one booking number.
when we arrived at the hotel, we were told that we had only one confirmed room. We were advised that we could have a second room if we gave our credit card to them. We said no as we had already paid. After 45 mins we asked to check into our confirmed room whilst we sorted the second room. We were told that we could pay for internet connection so that we could prove to them that we had paid. The reservations manager, who I had emailed was not contactable and nobody else had the reservations access. I was told by the duty manager that the reservations manager was uncontactable as he was enjoying the weekend with his family. Shame I couldn't say the same thing !
We provided the duty manager with a copy of our credit card statement, which clearly showed that we had paid for two rooms but he still refused to check us into the second room. By this time our kids (a 6yr old, 3 yr old and 20 mth old) were starting to get agitated.
We were told to get online and find a number to contact the travel company to confirm our payment. By this time the 24 hr internet connection we had "payed for" had gone down !
It took us over 3 and a half hours to check in ! In the end my husband went and saw the duty manager and told him he had 15 mins to sort it out or he would pull his companies account with Hilton. I was in the room crying !
Ten minutes later we received a ph call to our room, from someone we had not previously dealt with, saying our second room was confirmed and did we want to come to reception and collect the key. No apology or offer to compensate us for our wasted afternoon. We never saw or heard from the duty manager again !
Of course our second room was on a different floor - handy for 3 kids under 7 !
On checking out, we wasted another 45 mins whilst the reception rang around to see if we should pay for our internet connection to the room. We refused to pay as we had connectivity for a whole 5mins, during which time we printed off our bank statement to prove that we had paid.
It was the worst service I have ever received. Not a single sorry for wasting our time and causing us heartache. It spoilt my weekend in Abu Dhabi.
Next time I will stay at another hotel, and will recommend to others to do the same.
At the moment I am in the process of writing to the General Manager of Hilton Hotels for Asia Pacific and Middle East.
