Stayed at the Hilton Vienna Plaza in April 2007 and as a Diamond Member I was shocked that they didn't have non-smoking rooms on the club level floors. I realize smoking in Europe is more widely accepted but I felt like it was 1976 and I was making a major faux-pas by asking for a non-smoking room.
Room was spacious, bed was a bit hard, service was top notch. The hotel is in close proximity to all of the major sites in Vienna.

I have been at Hilton Vienna Plaza last week. Can't say it's a great hotel. They forgot my wake up call just to say "I will report the incident". The internet (by Swisscom) is very poor and extremely expensive. I started to buy a Wifi "leisure" rate - can't remember the exact price but around 22 ? per day. It was impossible to download the attachments of my emails (from a meeting room). The cable connection never worked. It became hell to purchase and implement a Wifi Business rate (higher priority) that costs 27 ?. The business center employee is willing but can't change anything to a very poor technical set up. If like me you need internet for professional reasons, try another hotel in town.

Stayed in the Vienna Plaza for 2 nights on business trip. Overall it is a fine hotel in a good location. You are very close to the ring and so can walk into the centre in about 10 minutes.
Service was excellent from all staff.
Breakfast was Eur 23 which is a bit expensesive so am sure if would pay myself if travelling personally.
The rooms are nice size and clean.
Awesome city; great hotel

Just completed an incredible 15 days traveling through Germany and Austria by rental car. For our three nights in Vienna, we chose the Hilton Vienna Plaza - using Hilton Honors points.
Arrival was a bit challenging. Driving in downtown Vienna with all of its oneway streets complicated by a light rain was only possible thanks to our Garmin Nuvi 370. Got us to the front door with only 3 or 4 route recalculations.
Bellstaff appeared immediately - emptying the car of our excessive baggage. Check-in was very quick. Was upgraded (due to diamond HH status) to a corner suite and given access to the executive lounge.
First impression of the suite came at the entry door - beautiful heavy wood - photo attached. Upon entry, we found a tempting plate of munchies. Bedding, furniture, bath, etc - all great.
Used the Executive Lounge quite a lot - especially for the free internet access. Food and drink there definitely met our needs.
Location - on the Ring with Schottentor U-Bahn stop just out the door to the right. And we definitely recommend the Vienna public transit system. Very clean, safe, reliable - and easy to figure out.
What did we do with the car? No way was I going to park at the hotel. 27 euros a day is a painful. After checking in, we drove it to the Erberg P+R southeast of town - and jumped on the U-bahn to return to the city. Cost for 3 days of parking - 8.10 euros.
While the property was first rate, I'm not sure we would have stayed there if we were not using points. The rate for the suite was 565 euros a day - nearly $800.
Vienna itself - very, very impressive. Fabulous culture and architecture. We heartily recommend the city and the hotel.

Stayed at Hilton Vienna Plaza for 3 nights ( 15/10 thru 18/10) together with my girlfriend. We don't like big chain hotels and normally we would have stayed somewhere else but for some reason every good hotel in town was booked for that period. So we said we should try the Hilton Vienna Plaza. We stayed in a corner suite, room no 323.
The location is excellent, very close to everything worth seeing in Vienna and the metro is at your doorstep. The suite we stayed in was quite large. However, the furniture is very old looking and in some cases needed some repairs. The carpet had stains all over it. The bathroom had white marble but it wasn't cleaned properly, hair was lying all over and the mirror had dozens of fingerprints on it.
The only good thing about this hotel is probably the restaurant, one should definetly try it!
We wouldn't stay at this hotel on our next trip to vienna. Even if you pay 400 Euros for a suite and expect some sort of luxury, luxury is what you won't get. If you like old, tired rooms, go with Hilton Plaza
