This is a somewhat smaller hotel, as far as the property size is concerned. We were able to park directly in front of our room. Our room with one king size bed was fairly large, with a couch and a coffee table, plenty of room for all the assorted baby gear.
The pool was basic, but very adaquate. No life gaurd on duty, and no diving board or diving depth. The children in the pool didn't seem to mind though.
Basic, but very adaquate would also describe the free breakfast. Thankfully it was more than donuts and coffe. Two juices, mini-muffins, bagels, english muffins, condiments, biscuts and gravy, two cold cereals, milk, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were all available. No waffles, pancakes, sausage or bacon.
On drawback was that the free wireless internet didn't work that well. The wi-fi signal strength was weak, so we had several time out errors when trying to use our laptop.
Overall this was a fine hotel in which to rest up and prepare for a day in the national parks.

Front desk was very helpful, the pool was great with the kids, and the breakfast was ok. This is an older hotel. When the kids were in the tub they splashed water on the sides and casued a large amount of mold to come sliding into the tub. I noticed that on the way to Zion's Park the hotels got cheaper the farther you get from St. George.

My husband and I stayed at the HOJO St. George for one night in April, while passing through on the way to Zion Canyon.
The service was terrific, friendly, with the in's and out's of the place. Since we had never been to St. George before, it was extremely helpful to find a restaurant menu selection in the lobby. The lobby also hosted yummy cookies in the evening and a breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, danishes, juice, tea and coffee. All were fresh and we did not have a problem with the crowds at 9 a.m. when we finally made it on down to breakfast.
The room was great, a suite, with a sofa and t.v. in the living area. A wet bar with a sink, microwave and mini refigerator was a nice touch. There was second t.v. in the bedroom area ( wet bar sort of divided the living room/bedroom areas). There was a one sink in the decent sized vanity area and a very clean bathroom, complete with a rubber ducky near the tub.
There was high speed internet, wireless, which was helpful. We like to check our email a lot. We did have some problems connecting to it and it became sluggish at times, but we were still able to check it.
I should mention that there is a decent sized pool and hot tub on the property, which looked nice, but we did not use either.
This was a great stay for us. We liked the friendly service, the clean rooms, the large size of the room and the amenities. If we do stop in St. George again, we know where to stay!

The Howard Johnson Express was lovely. My room was very clean and the decor up-to-date and modern--what I would expect at a Marriott. The continental breakfast was very nice before we headed out on the road. Overall, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE from the staff!! We will be back
nice suite

We stayed here one night, in the Godfrey Suite. It has a king bed in one room and two queens in the other. Perfect for our family of six. There are two TVs; the one in the King room is a big-screen tv. There is a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and cabinets. Round table with two chairs. The suite was very clean, and there were extra pillows and an iron/ironing board in the closet. The bathroom had a jetted tub. This is the largest suite there, I think. It has a private entrance (via sliding door) to the pool and hot tub area. There is a continental breakfast in the lobby. Biscuits and gravy, cereal, juice, sweet rolls...typical light breakfast. I'd stay here again.
