We had an excellent stay at the Square Hotel in February 2008. In fact we loved it so much that I have recommended this hotel to my sister which is visiting this hotel in July 2008. We, my fianc?e and I are also visiting this magnificent city and hotel again in August. I will write an updated review when we get home.
We booked this hotel through SLH.com, Small Luxury Hotels of the World. We did pay 250 Euro/night and breakfast was not included, not that this matters since you don’t always eat at the hotel, which by the way has an excellent breakfast menu.
The room was fabulous, we had a standard room, and we couldn’t complain about anything. I will upload some photos when I have time to.
The Service was great and the restaurant was also really high-quality but not to pricy, we paid about 80 Euro for a two course dinner with a couple of drinks and a whisky to top it off. We also shared one desert. Try the tartar for main course, its really fabulous!
All in all a really nice hotel which I can recommend to everyone who wants to have a great time in Paris.

The only good thing about Hotel Square is that you can actually walk to the Eiffel Tower. This hotel has no class! There was a roach on my pillow and the marble bathroom had a huge water leak. No water bottles in the room, only big bottles of liquor. Since the hotel would not allow three to a room(it was myself, husband and daughter), we had to have two rooms. Imagine our surprise when after a full day of Paris both rooms had the TV turned on to a soft-porno station! The hotel also had black out drapes. This hotel is suitable for men travelling on business. Also the staff did not ask for any ID or credit card upon check in. Believe me, this is no Four Seasons(a reviewer compared this hotel to it). Don't waste your money or time at this place!

I am not a fan of Paris as a whole but this hotel makes the stay a whole lot better. It is a fantastic little hotel with great rooms and bathrooms. The staff are first class and go out of their way to be helpful (rare in Paris).
The restaurant has a great little outside pavement area which is secluded but voyeuristic at the same time. We had breakfast and lunch there all of which was great.
It is the perfect weekend away hotel.
Top tip: the 72 bus outside the hotel runs up and down the river, dropping off at most of the top attractions. You buy a 1 way ticket on board for 1.5 Euros and validate in the machine next to the driver. It is really simple and a great way to get round. The metro is a bit of a walk. There is a train station (Kennedy) very close but the nearest metro stops are at least 10 minute walks.

My second stay at the hotel square, thougt the last was about 4 years ago. The hotel is absolutely faultless. The grand suite that I had was perfectly comfortable with a large bathroom, dining area and bedroom. Staff were very helpful, welcoming and pleasant throughout the stay. I noticed that the staff were very security conscious which is always reassuring. Its position in the 16th next to the Maison Radio France places it outside the usual tourist trail, which to me is a major plus. The are two metro stops within easy walking distance plus the RER and a bus line which follows the river. Chic and delightful sums it up. I have stayed at the Four Seasons Georges V on more than one occasion but the Hotel Square is preferable.

We booked the hotel through the Small Luxury Hotels of the World website. It was not our first choice, but the others were booked. We had never stayed at the hotel before, but I was familiar with the neighborhood, so we gave it a shot.
The hotels was very very good. The rooms were spacious and clean, although a little too warm for our taste (remedied in due course). The bathroom was very large, clean, well lit and stylish (lots of marble). The service could not have been better and was much more friendly than Parisian service tends to be - so it was quite unusual. The bowlful of macaroons left in the room was a delicious touch.
The location is a short walk from the Tour Eiffel and the statute of liberty. It may seem somewhat out of the way if one's intent is to be in the thick of it all, but it's a worthwhile experience to stay in that part of town (the 16th is a beautiful arrondisement, despite the fact that it tends to be rather sedate).
My only dislike was the constant music piped into the halls and lobby of the hotel. I found that superflous and annoying. Thankfully, it couldn't be heard in the room.
We would stay here again.
