If you're booking online directly through the Holiday Inn web site, read EVERYTHING on the page very carefully. I've travelled a good deal with major hotels and never seen another site like this -- especially given that the rates and the hotel are definitely not any more competitive than others in the area.
I tried to change my plans and got stuck with major charges.
Bottom line for me. Don't think twice. Go somewhere if you have any other alternatives.

We recently stayed at this Holiday Inn and were pleased with the accomodations. The staff at the front desk was friendly and check in and out was easy. We had a room facing the pool but there was very little noise from it. Our room had a king sized bed with 4 fluffy pillows and was very comfortable. The room also had a fridge, microwave, blow dryer, and iron/board. This Holiday Inn is close to WalMart and several restaurants, including Applebees and Denny's. We ate at the Neptune Diner, which is an excellent place to eat. It's large and clean and you get tons of food. I'd recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone. It was a little expensive ($143/night), but this seemed to be the average AAA rate in other hotels for this time of the year. This hotel is only about 1/2 hour from Cooperstown in case you're interested in visiting the museums there. We went to the Farmer's Museum, the Ommegang Brewery, and Bear Pond winery too. This Holiday Inn is in a good location. I'd definitely stay here again.

The staff at check in were wonderful. We were forced to choose this hotel because they allowed us to have our dogs...only hotel (not motel) in the area! Usually a hotel that allows dogs (2 big ones like ours 60lbs+) is undergoing renovation and they give you and old room. Room service for dinner was very good. We were surprised! The room service staff was nice. There was a strange odor in the room - I assume that is why they let us have dogs in it. Smelled like there had been water damage or that it used to be a smoking room - hotel is non-smoking now. We opened the windows and it got better. Beds were clean, bathroom was super clean...exterior doors were iffy. All the hall doors were loud, but the excellent staff service made up for the weird smell and loud doors...and this is a pet friendly hotel with a nice wide open space in the back to walk your dogs. Only thing that would be better is if it was fenced in so dogs could be off the leash. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who needs a last minute room or even a planned vacation - like fall leaf peeping!

I stayed at this hotel in 8/07 on a $189.00 /night rate while visiting Cooperstown with my husband and three kids. While no particular calamity occurred at this hotel, it was just tired, old, and , well , yucky! The standard room was small, and by the odor, had obviously been a smoking room in the past. Beds were uncomfortable. Showers had a gross curtain. To top it off, we were on the second floor, and there was no elevator!!! The breakfast which was included was suitable for a dog. I have stayed in several hotels in the general area which were slightly cheaper and have alwaysa had much cleaner and more updated surroundings.

My father-in-law picked this hotel mainly due to price. It is about a 25 minute ride to Cooperstown. The front desk was not at all helpful when we checked in - there is no elevator in the building!
My in-laws were in there late 80's so i wish we had figured that out first. Room was clean but dining room was not good. I wish that we had stayed right in Cooperstown it would have been much more convenient. The first night none of us could figure out how to close the drapes - we finally figured it out the second night but being tired after a long ride it was confusing. We had no trouble with the wireless it was fine and helped us to find restaurants in the area. Any questions, i would be happy to answer them.
