I stay there every year we go storm chasing and it is a nice hotel.
I don't spend much time in my hotel room so I just need someplace that is clean to sleep and have good Internet access and this place has both. The rooms are fairly clean, I did not see anything very bad and I felt comfortable staying in my room. The hotel staff has always been great and easy to deal with; they have bent over backwards for me and the people I stay with several times.
The location is AWSOME, they have multiple restaurants within walking distance, I highly recommend the Cajun place just a half block down the street. There is also a trolley stop right next to the hotel, you can purchase an all day pass for $2.00 and it will take you downtown to the Ford Center, Bricktown etc.
They have a free shuttle to and from the airport, and they will probably take you someplace else if you just ask.
Internet access was fine but on Saturday night when the hotel was packed, I could not get on as they ran out of IP addresses. (I am an IT person and I know technical issues when I see them.) But other than that I was satisfied. As with all free hotel Internet access, (Before you go) make sure your computer is completely patched, your anti-virus is up to date and you have your firewall turned on.
The swimming pool seemed nice, the exercise room was adequate and they had a hot tub. There is one ice machine per floor and it is located by the middle stairs, and of course mine did not work and I had to go down the stairs to get my ice filled.
The bar is quaint, the breakfast was $10.00 and it includes eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal and assorted breads and pastries.
There is one downside, they are remodeling and every room is going to be re-vamped. When I was there they removed the hot tub, closed off the normal dining area and it looks like they are putting in an elevator. So for a couple months after this review, please be aware there might be some construction going on, but let me tell you the new room setup looks really nice!

Hotel was so-so. Our room wasn't the cleanest, I found something that resembled a toe nail behind the bedside table. If you're looking for a place that your kids will like, this is it. The pool was packed with children. I wouldn't suggest this hotel if you aren't traveling with kids. Restaurant was great.

i stayed at the Express down the Street a few times before, but the regular Holiday Inn was cheaper this time for some reason.
The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast buffet in the morning. plenty of food - and pretty good quality too. by the way, it's FREE if you are a Priority Club member. you just got yourself a $10 breakfast for free, besides a few dollars tip to the wait staff, which are great and super friendly.
i stayed in room 316. i didn't realize it when they put me there, but there is a whole section of rooms in the 300 and 400's which is in a separate annex building - that is not attached to the main hotel. these rooms have exterior/outside entrance ways. this has pros and cons. the interior rooms on the other hand, are all facing the holidome. take your pick? kids jumping in the pool, or outside entrance way?
staff was nice, but they screwed up my room type and give me 2 doubles instead of a king. i made the mistake of checking in and leaving for a business dinner. i came back later that night - found it was not the right type as ordered, and by that time it was sold out. oh well. still a nice room - safe and clean. can't ask for much more, really.
overall, if you really want a full breakfast, stay here. otherwise, check the Express down the street. it's more modern, newer furniture and closer to the interstate (I-40).

Great place for Family reunion....

We had a family reunion at the Holiday Inn Airport OKC, and had a great time. Everything worked out really well. Rooms were very clean and updated. Pool area was clean and game area also. Hotel employees were very helpful. Lots of things to do to entertain children and young adults.
The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide variety of choices and personnel very friendly. Overall, everyone in our group seemed very pleased with our choice of hotels. For having a large group with small children and elderly, we couldn't have chosen a better place. We definately would consider going there again if having another reunion.

We arrived around 1130 a.m. after a rough morning of getting lost on OKC expressways and 30 minutes in a construction zone just outside the hotel. I asked if we could check in early and the lady said no way-they were full the night before. I took a walk around the pool area and noticed some clean rooms but respected her answer and trudged back out into the construction. When we returned two hours later, we were put in one of the rooms that was clean the first time..Frustrating! The room was ok, had a stale odor, possibly from being pool side, the AC unit was too loud to use while sleeping and had no fan only setting, only heat or cool. It was clean, beds were very comfortable and I loved the three little fat pillows on each! We didn’t try the restaurant. Later there was a goofy lady at the pool who tried to pick a fight with me when she mistakenly accused me of turning her in for smoking. She ranted for 10-20 minutes before
my husband finally put an end to it. Thought there would be security cameras and someone monitoring....maybe not. The next morning pool was supposed to open at 9. My grandsons were up with swim trunks on by 7, checking pool area every 5 minutes. They blasted out at 9 just to be told to get out so it could be cleaned. Not a terrible experience but I agree with another review that said the hotel staff is friendly but they don't really go out of their way to assist you.
