The hotel is on the edge of a motorway, it's not noisy, the purpose of the trip was to watch my favourite German Club Alemannia Aachen FC, this hotel is next to the football ground, and in walking distance for anyone interested in horse shows. I really had a wonderful 3 days at this hotel. I had booked direct from the Holiday Inn website and the rate was £39 a night (without breakfast ) that I thought was very reasonable. Breakfast is quite expensive for an extra £9 , though it is well worth it. You help yourself, this is a buffet breakfast, help yourself to a full English breakfast, and a German one if you like, and you can eat as much as you like, which of course I did ! The young fraulines on reception were really nice, made phone calls for taxis for me, and couldn't do enough ,and were most helpful, their english was brilliant , even the waiters and the chef spoke english and were very friendly and were always pleased to chat. The bar stewardess was happy enough to let the residents drink to 2.15 am in the early hoursof Sunday morning, and never moaned about the time. The room was very clean , tidy and had a nice feel to it, the shower and bathrooms were tidy and clean and looked after very well. The only problems ,and they are minor, is that the hotel is quite a way from the city centre, it is not so bad if there are 2 of you or more as you can split the taxi fare, my friends live in the centre of Aachen so getting in to town on my 3 day trip and back cost me £9 , each time. Also I found that there is not much choice on the menu for an evening meal. But I definitely would come back to this hotel again, this is a Great place.

Gemeinsam mit einem Kollegen teilte ich mir für zwei Nächte im Rahmen einer Fortbildungsveranstaltung in Aachen ein Zimmer im Holiday Inn. Der Preis, den wir auf der Hotelhomepage bekommen hatten, war ein sehr günstiges Abgebot. Das Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstraße günstig zur Autobahn, jedoch ausserhalb der Innenstadt und kann daher zum Sightseeing nur bedingt empfohlen werden. Der Parkplatz ist kostenpflichtig und überteuert. Als Tipp: Hinter dem Hotel gibt es in einer Seitenstraße gegenüber der Polizei kostenlose öffentliche Parkplätze! Die Einrichtung des Hotels stammt aus den frühen neunziger Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhunderts und ist schon etwas verwohnt. Unser Zimmer war recht dunkel, lag allerdings nach hinten raus und war daher nicht so laut, wie von anderen Gästen beschrieben. Die Betten waren bequem. Im Zimmer fand sich ein Wasserkocher, der allerdings eine "Sicherheitsvorrichtung" gehabt haben muß und daher immer nur für kurze Zeit geheizt hat. So dauerte es etwa eine Viertelstunde, bis man Wasser zubereitet hatte, daß für einen Tee ausreichend heiß war. Ich finde es ziemlich nutzlos, einen Wasserkocher im Zimmer anzubieten, der offensichtlich kein Wasser kochen kann! Das Badezimmer entsprach auch den Neunzigern, es funktionierte jedoch alles. Das Restaurant haben wir nicht besucht, der Service an der Bar war freundlich und prompt. Alles in allem ein Hotel, daß sehr bald renoviert werden sollte. Man fühlt sich um 10 bis 15 Jahre in die Vergangenheit zurückversetzt. Die Ausstattung funktioniert, ist jedoch alt. Ebenso sollte es in Zeiten von Flatrates kostenfreien Internetzugang für die Gäste geben und nicht ein (!) überteuertes Internetterminal neben der Eingangstür. Für eine Zwischenübernachtung und zum Schlafen ist das Haus geeignet für einen romantischen Urlaub sicherlich nicht.

Sehr laut an einer Ausfallstraße gelegen. Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht, Fenster lassen sich nur ankippen, daher eine sehr "heiße" Nacht. Beim Auschecken verwechselte man unsere Namen. Der geforderte Rechnungsbetrag war höher als der über HRS garantierte. Ohne weitere Erklärung oder gar Entschuldigung gewährte man uns dann den niedrigeren Preis. Für Privatreisen mit Besichtigungen im Zentrum würde ich dieses Hotel im Übrigen auch wegen der Lage nicht empfehlen.

I can fully empathise with the previous reviewer (FRC). This hotel is only good for it's location close to the motorway. We have stayed there twice whilst driving from the Czech Republic to the UK. The rooms have a rather tired feel to them, as does the whole hotel. At this level I don't expect perfection but, I also don't expect there to be poo stains still present in the toilet (yes there really was). There was also rather too many hairs on the sheet and on checking under the bed before we left in the morning I saw some old food that had not been cleaned. The first time we stayed here the breakfast had disappointed so this time we opted to go without. On our first visit they mucked up our room reservation and this time they also didn't seem to understand that we had reserved a comfort room and only had smoking comfort rooms left. Clearly the reservation system does not work properly. I should not have given this hotel the benefit of the doubt and revisited a second time but it is very convenient for the motorway and you can have two children in a room with you. Also our room on our first visit had not been as dirty as on our second. Holiday Inn please take note. This Hotel needs to improve!
