Great location. This hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool. The beach is nice and the staff was great. They have a sports bar, nightclub, and an outdoor patio in the perimeter. I would recommande this hotel to just about anyone.
I also recommande "Amical". It is an awesome restaurant with great food located in the downtown area. Pricey but it's worth it! Also try "The Omellette Shop" . Great breakfast stop!

Positives:
-Nice Location close to downtown and beach-front right on the bay
-Patio Bar... (a positive for the most part)
Negatives (where do I start)
-Constant noise at night, door slamming, paper thin walls
-Filthy furniture, comforter out of that 70's show, cracks in the ceiling, dirty windows with no screens, air conditioning that sounds like a jet engine.
-two words "mini fridge"... badly needed
-Plastic adirondack beach chairs that were purchased for $5 at the local Menards and that buckle under an adult sized weight (bring your own)
-bathrooms like a phone booth, toilet 6 inches off ground, a yoga maneuver for the toilet paper behind you.
-called the front desk for extra bath towels... we are still waiting for them two days later.
-We waited an hour for a bowl of fruit on the patio bar when there was about ten other people eating there... the waitress told us that someone "stole" the fruit bowl so we had to wait another fifteen minutes for the next one (they did comp it)
I would suggest spending a little extra money for a nicer place - there is plenty of public parking in the downtown area, but not a lot to do there... so the proximity to downtown was not as necessary as I thought when booking the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend and I was less than impressed. Check-in beings at 4:00pm and I arrived at the hotel at 4:30. The room was not ready and I had to wait with my dog until 6:45 to check in. I ordered room service several times and it took over 45 minutes to receive my order each time and the food was cold. The day of my check-out a manager came knocking on my door at 9:00 to make sure that I was checking out that day and not planning on staying, I thought that was very rude. I only paid about $90.00 for my room and you get what you pay for. If you're looking for higher class, this is not the hotel for you.

We have stayed here several times years ago with our other pets. Nice to see they are still pet friendly. They are supposed to charge $10 per night for having your pet, but they didn't charge us (not sure why and we had our dog with us at check in.) We booked the king room through their web site and got it for $70. The night before our stay we saw the rate dropped to $65, called and they lowered the rate for us. Checked in early (1pm) and they gave us free bottled water and a snack at check in. The room was next to the elevator (a bit noisy but not that bad.) Rooms need some redecorating but otherside they were clean and the tv was great, had like 70 channels and great reception. We did call the front desk for towels and they forgot to bring them, later when we called again they were there in a few minutes. Had to call about a loud group partying in the hallway lobby area. They had the problem resolved within a few minutes. It was a good stay, would stay here again if we brought our dog to town with us. There are far nicer places to stay but so few will let you have your dog with you!

We stayed at this hotel during a road trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes with my wife and dog. We chose this hotel because we knew that Holiday Inns were pet friendly and have a reasonable reputation. We paid $110/night plus a $10 pet fee.
Our check-in was efficient, no problems. We were given a room on the third floor facing the other building. Not very convenient to take the dog out but I think the hotel lacked any convenient rooms toward the exit. In fact, we were quite a ways down the hall from the elevator.
The room was adequate and as we had reserved. One king bed with a clean bathroom, TV, and a couch. No refrigerator or microwave. The comforter appeared slightly dusty (as many hotels' comforters do) so we turned that over and shoved it into the corner.
The hotel included some "free kennels" that were located adjacent to one of the parking lots. You just ask at the desk for a key and you can keep your dog in there. We took a look at the kennels, in hopes of going to grab something to eat. Looked pretty old and worn down (but usable) so we just decided to take our dog with us to dinner.
Overall, an adequate but uninspiring stay. I would stay here again but I think I would try to find something newer and nicer. We were limited by pet friendly hotels but I think some more research would have gotten us a better hotel.
