altho the property looked dreary, there was covered parking available. the first room was standard, and as we checked the bed linen (as we did in every hotel room) right on top of the pillow was a dead bug. Clearly there were no other indications or signs of bedbugs--and this dead bug may have been a wood tick! it appeared to have been processed through the laundry. but of course it was unsettling, and we discreetly notified the front desk who immediately sent up head of housekeeping with room keys to an upgraded larger sq ft room with a frig and microwave, apologies and armed with scotch tape to secure the offending insect for the exterminator to identify.
a word of caution--if you walk about the battlefield and wooded area, be aware there are wood ticks and deer ticks, so dress accordingly and do a body check when done touring each day.
there were many stores, attractions and restaurants nearby. macdonald's just across the street. and gettysburg welcome center with educational presentation about the days of battle.

The hotel was located right across the street from the cemetary and visitors center.Walking distance to town, shops and eating. Room is basic but clean. It isn't the decor you would find in the Four Seasons but you aren't paying for that! Continential breakfast is just that...toast,pastries,cereal,coffee,,juice and one type of fruit. If you are looking for an omelette station spend more money and go else where so you won't be disappointed.!Personally, it was great for my family. The staff was friendly and helpful. Children enjoyed the pool,it too was clean. Hotel was quiet. If you are looking for a basic, inexpensive room that has a good location and is clean it can't be beat.

Recently stayed at the America's Best Value Inn. Based on some of the reviews, and the "star category" I was expecting the worst. In reality, though, this was a very clean, very comfortable motel. One huge plus: a real tiled shower stall. Never see those anymore.
But what really made this place for me was the location: less than 200 yards from the battlefield visitor's center. For the price, that really cannot be beat. It's also within walking distance of quite a few restaurants - though the center of town is a good mile away.
The continental breakfast wasn't great: cereal, some rolls, a few muffins. But the price and location make up for any negatives. Highly recommended.

We just returned from 4 nights in America's Best Value Inn, Gettysburg. I'll start with the pros of the motel, it was clean, very little noise,we even had teenage boys beside us,enough room for 4 people with double beds, close enough to walk to a lot of attractions and restaurants. We were satisfied with the continental breakfast- though it was just that-continental.The sheets were crisp, but we never sleep under the bed spread,(Yuck!) I always just fold those and put in a corner.I also spray the toilet -the floor around the toilet, sink and shower fixtures with lysol, so I feel everything is disinfected. But over all it was clean though alil' dated.A great thing was the a/c was thermastat controlled so we didn't freeze nor burn up.The staff was very nice and helpful.A real bonus was 2 sinks and 2 doors-park and go right in the room or out the front to the pool or breakfast.O.K. the cons- the shower never ran full, more water went down the drain than out of the faucet head, and the toilet handle had to be held for it to completely flush-we found this out right a way!! The pool needed to be cleaned -a pool snake(pump that floats on the bottom to suck away debris) would have worked wonders!.There was a Friendly's right in front of our room, just about 20-30 yards from our door-good food but skip the soda pop-$2.19 a glass, after our 1st visit we stuck to water! So the pros out weigh the cons.We will stay here again if back in the area.

This motel is a converted property that is directly across from the existing visitor's center at Gettysburg [a new visitor's center is being built some distance away]. You can walk to many of the major attractions, nearby shops and restaurants. The property is dated but clean. The same is true for the rooms, older furnishings but in good order. The bathroom had been modernized, however, and the bed was comfortable. The property advertises free high speed internet but I was warned that the signal probably wouldn't make it to the two story building at the back of the property where my room was. It didn't, however I simply stepped out on the outside balcony which faces the battlefield to pick up the signal and there were no problems. The free continental breakfast was more than adequate, not as elaborate as you might find at a Hampton but similar to what is typically seen at a Holiday Inn Express. Fine for my needs.
Overall I'd say the name summarizes this property well, value. You'll find the room rates substantially less than the other major economy chains and, in Getttysburg, those newer properties are not near the park as is the case with this motel.
