Only stayed for a single night, but was impressed with the cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff, comfort, general look of the hotel, and easy access from the M25. The Breakfast was adequate, though not the best I have had, but the beds were extremely comfortable, and the room and bathroom facilities were very clean and had everything available that we could need. Even the maid staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we didnt have time to try the pool, but we had a look, and saw a young family enjoying it. Hot drinks in the lounge were a little pricey, but I guess this is to be expected in a large hotel on the edge of London. I would definitely reccommend this hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now. My husbands company hold their annual company party here, and we stay overnight.
The rooms are large and have on both occasions been very clean. The same goes for the bathrooms. The towels are always good, and the bath sheets large.
The beds are comfortable, and extra pillows are available, in the wardrobes.
Can't comment on the menus, as we only have experience of event catering. We have no complaints about that. It's been well cooked and hot and nicely served and presented by efficient and pleasant staff.
We have had the buffet breakfast on both stays and would highly recommend it. The selection is wide, cereals, fresh fruit and a good selection of juices. The cooked selection is also very good and is kept fresh looking. No dried out bacon or solid baked beans when we've been there. The waiting staff at breakfast have always been very efficient and polite too.
We have no complaints at all, and wouldn't think twice about staying here for any occasion.

Stayed in this hotel May 2008. With exception of the bar area this hotel hasn't been updated since the 80's. The rooms are tired and dirty and not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn.
The hotels bar food was appauling making McDonald's seem like fine dining.
Give this place a wide berth and if you are looking for a Holiday Inn I'd recommend Brent Cross or any Holiday Inn Express over this hotel.

Rooms clean etc.
Resteraunt food is, at best average, but very expensive.
My bill for an evening meal came to over ?70.00, and when I approached the Manager to discuss what was, in my opinion, an exhorbidant price for what I had eaten,he was not interested, stating its a 4 star hotel you expect to pay high prices. His attitude boarderd on the arrogant.

Its a holiday inn; and its like most other holiday inns. The rooms are clean, the beds comfy. The service is ok but would prefer a bit better given the price especially in the restaurant. The food is borderline between ok and bad - have seen an entire table of steaks get sent back but the staff took it in good grace. The menu needs a refresh as i think its overreaching the kitchens ability. It could also do with a special in the restaurant as a number of guests are very regular.
In winter the bar can get cold given the open nature of the reception. The beer selection is a bit poor; it would be nice to get a grolsch, starroprammen or something with a bit more taste than becks.
The internet access was until recently very expensive for what you get; but the 3g reception is iffy in parts.
In borehamwood / elstree its without peers. Every now and then I stay at the HI Brent Cross for a change of scenery.
