Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, its in the financial area which meant it was really quiet for the long weekend we stayed. It is however very accessible to get around the city because the metro station is only 2 minutes away.
The rooms where a good size, clean, air conditioned and quiet.
We didn't spend any time in using the hotel facilities because we wanted to see the city but the receptionists were very useful in advising us of how to get around etc.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay at the hotel and because of its location is less than 10 euro to get to in a taxi.
Would recommend this hotel to others.

This is a hotel we often stay when in Lisbon, it is a solid reliable 3 star Holiday Inn, clean, comfortable rooms, spacious foyer and an attractive restaurent in the basement offering above average continental breakfast. I must stress that that it is a continental breakfast with a few hot items like scrumble egg and bacon, not the sumptuous buffet breakfast in similar class Far East hotels ! It is also of good value, only a few extra euors above the basic room rate if you book the with b/f rate. For those in hurry or only wanting a coffee or a light bite, there is a coffee bar just outside the restaurant with some tables and chairs and for take out.
There is not much of a view from the hotel, it is a glass/steel high rise of the 70's style, hidden from the main roads, rooms on one side look into a yard surrounded by office blocks and on the other side into a single level hospital compound with some greenery beyond. If you like "fresh" air like my wife, it is one of few high rise hotels allowing windows to partially open.
The hotel is not in downtown, but is a up-market residential/commercial area, it is one block from a metro station which can take you to downtown in about 10min. Nearby, there are a number of similar class hotels, restaurants and small malls, the most interesting one is the recently rennovated bull ring, just across the road from the rearest metro station. It is now used for cultural events and there is a small underground mall under the bull ring with a food court. If you take a taxi, make sure you say Holiday Inn Continental, because there is another Holiday Inn (similar class and rates) only about a mile away. That one is slightly newer but not so close the the metros.

We picked the hotel for it's location , it was only one block from the Bullring where the metro and bus station were . Unfortunately it wasn't 4 star , the staff themselves were great but other little things let the hotel down .
Breakfast was included in the price which was fine , it was nothing special and quite often things weren't replaced with any speed . I sat one morning with no plate or juice glass and the cold meats were half empty .
The room was fine and warm enough with extra blankets if needed . Unfortunately the noise from the corridor at all hours was terrible...I was woken by my neighbours at 4.30am with them banging doors and and shouting down the hallway to each other , rather a pain .
Dispite all that the location lived up to it's part , in a quiet side road that was well lit at night...the reception staff were very helpful on us getting travel passes for the transport system and also sorting me out with toothbrushes as I had forgot to pack ours .
I wouldn't return here I don't think , but if your going on business or for football then it's location is pretty good .

I stayed here for one week in late Feb-early Mar 2008, and I highly recommend this hotel! I booked through an agent for a conference I was attending, and expected the "single" room I ordered for 80 euro/night (including breakfast) to be very small and plain. However, I was thrilled to arrive to a very spacious room with a king sized bed (in Europe!??! amazing!) that was immaculately clean and looked newly-rennovated. The room seemed very freshly painted, all of the furniture and bedding seemed brand new--no scuffs or stains anywhere. I really appreciated the wood floors in the bedroom and marble floors and walls in the bathroom; they were comfortable and very clean. The bed was comfortable, too, and the work space was excellent. I was able to use the mini-bar fridge to keep my own items in when necessary, and I liked having the ability to make nescafe and tea in my room as well (provided each day by housekeeping.) My room was very light and the windows were soundproofed, so when the window was closed, I could not hear any noises from outside--a big plus! The heating and cooling system was quiet and worked well. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding, and hot water was always available. The toilet and bidet were also in outstanding new condition. I checked in on a Sunday morning at 9am, and my room was ready, too--something that's very nice after an international flight. The breakfast was an outstanding plus--there was always a lot to choose from, including at least three kinds of cheeses, three meats, tons of fresh fruit (including kiwis, oranges, peachese, bananas, etc), tomatoes, several yogurt flavors, lots of cereal choices, about 10 kinds of breads and pastries, still and fizzy water, about 6 types of juice, coffee, milk (hot and cold), tea, hot chocolate, as well as scrambled eggs, sausages, boiled eggs, and bacon. On the weekend, quiche was also available, and the staff (especially the breakfast room manager) was outstanding--friendly and prompt. All of the breakfast food was fresh and delicious. The housekeeping was excellent each day. I really appreciated having such a nice, clean, spacious, and stylish room to come back to after long days exploring the hills of Lisbon! The room service was adequate; the food wasn't anything to write home about, but it was fine, and very prompt and got the job done when I was too jetlagged omy first day to go out and eat. The hotel is situated a few blocks from the Campo Pequeno Metro station, which can put you in the heart of historic Lisbon in about 20 minues (including walking and waiting time). There are plenty of ATMs nearby, taxis are always available, and there is a supermarket under the Campo Pequeno bull fighting ring if you want to get some good bargains on snacks, water, etc. Check in and check out were smooth both Sunday mornings. All in all, this was an outstanding bargain for the price I paid, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Lisbon who doesn't mind being a little outside the city center. It's certainly better than your average Holiday Inn!
