we had been travelling all day and were disappointed to walk into our room and find signs of bed bugs in the room. We have had this problem at two other hotels and so that is the first thing we always check for before moving into the room.
There were obvious signs of bugs including even seeing a couple on the bed itself. We got one into a cup and showed it to the manager, who moved us to another room on the other side of the building. It was fine, but we still did not rest well because of wondering.
All in all, I would advise travellers to watch carefully!

okay, first of all we drove by car so we were ready to relax, but that wasn't the case, when we first got to the hotel.we had to work for our room,so to speak. we checked in the lobby they gave us our room key so we walked to our room with our little kids all the way around the other side of the hotel, when we go to our room our hotel key did not work, after walking all the way around the hotel and up the stairs we had to go back to get another key at the lobby.we got another key to our room so we went back to the room opened the door and found out they gave us someone else's room!!!!! the room was already taken. so we once again had to go back to the lobby, they luckly gave us a discount. then after that eveything was all good we went swimming ate etc we had fun till the next night we went down with the kids to go swimming, the pool was out of service, because teenagers put conditoner in the pool.. my kids started to cry because they loved to swim, they gave me another discount for that one,but besides that, room servise was great ,[try the blueberry pancakes]their great. oh forgot to tell you they had old food left under bed/i think hotel is okay to say a night in ,no more than that though.

We went to the Gator Bowl. We called the hotel and were given excellent directions to get around Jacksonville. We checked in with no reservations after 6pm on a holiday weekend, but were treated with every consideration. Every accommodaton was made to please our requests. The amenities were very nice - indoor pool, jacuzzi, ping pong table, lounge (The bartender was very nice!), restaurant (Best Brown Beans we have ever eaten!). We plan to stay again when and/or if WV gets another bowl bid. Plus, it was our 15th Anniversary on New Year's Eve and Food and Beverage sent us a complimentary gift basket. How nice! Omar who works at the front desk was very helpful! Thanks, Jacksonville, we had a blast and WV won!

The Inn in Jacksonville (Commonwealth AVE) was outstanding. First off, when we walked in we were cheerfully greeted by the most professionally looking staff I have not seen for sometime, even in more upscale hotel/motels. They welcomed us, had our room keys ready with clear and precise directions to our ground floor /non-smoking room. (We are seniors and ground floor/non-smoking rooms are preferred.) They gave each of us a bottle of cold water and small packages of M&Ms. This kind consideration was greatly appreciated after a long drive that day. It didn't stop there, without asking , because I am a Priority Club Member, they explained that my buffet breakfast was on them the next morning. (No other Holiday Inn on this trip gave us a consideration for breakfast.) The next morning the four-persons in my party had and absolutely delicious breakfast served by the most cheerful and competent server we had the whole trip - in fact, better than we have experienced the whole year. If you are looking for an Inn that treats travelers well and goes beyond the norm to make you feel welcomed, this is the place you should be showcasing.
