If you're after a hotel who will charge you 5-star hotel prices, but will shrug their shoulders when their bedroom decor almost fell on your baby's head, then the Mykonos Grand is the place for you. While most 4 stars will eagerly upgrade you to a superior room at the realization of the drama that could have happened, the Manager of the Mykonos Grand happily walks away with a mere apology tinted with insinuations that if the decor fell from the ceiling it's probably because the baby, somehow, pulled on the curtains... It is probably also the baby's fault if the very same Manager forgets to pick-up his clients after a boat trip, leaving them waiting in the high-noon blazing sun with 2 hungry & tired babies for about an hour and a half. Again, in place of some sort of sincere apology you will be thrown a simple, 'Sorry Sweetie, that's all I can do for you' from behind the counter, as if the local pub waitress had just announced she ran out of ketchup.

The property – about 4 kilometres from the main town (Mykonos) but served by irregular bus service and expensive taxis – seemed relatively new, beautifully situated overlooking the sea with views across the water to the island of Delos, it’s own private beach (clean, sandy) with complimentary sunbeds/parasols and freshwater shower facility too (quite a few steps to negotiate from hotel to beach). The multi-level hotel layout has an efficient lift service between levels though even then there are still quite a few steps to negotiate. The individual rooms are first-rate – roomy, light & airy, well furnished, satellite TV (limited English channels), well provisioned (bed linen, towels, nice toiletries, tissues, etc.) and cleanliness is thoroughly maintained daily.
The facilities – very good pool-side restaurant/bar (good menu – daily ‘specials’), main restaurant doubles as breakfast/evening dining (buffet style breakfast superb - evening menu expensive, uninviting, unchanging and overpriced), separate evening bar (friendly but expensive and soulless - nice view from the veranda’s comfy chairs though) – full spa services (not sampled), well equipped gym (not sampled), glorious sea water swimming pool – fresh towels daily, lots of pool-side beds but limited opportunities to stay in the shade.
The Staff - couldn’t be more friendly and helpful.
Conclusion – wonderful hotel, wonderful location (though very quiet and no ‘local life’ – go to Mykonos Town), wonderful staff, high standards matched by high prices but I would not hesitate from staying here again nor would I hesitate from recommending it highly to others.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Cyclades. Mykonos was our first stop. We were on our 25 wedding anniversary. The hotel was amazing. We thought we had entered a movie set. The location was nice, slightly away from the hussle of town, but very easy to get to and from by the local bus. The views were amazing! The front desk staff was welcoming, and very helpful. The room was spotless. The linens were fresh and crisp white. It was actually more beautiful then on their web site. It exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was incredable, fresh and delicious. We didnt want to leave to go to our next stop.We would definitely return.

Truly one of the most amazing, beautiful places i have ever stayed at. From the moment you arrive you are personally greeting with one-on-one check-in services. Our concierge knew what we needed even before we asked. It is so obvious that their staff is truly trained to anticipate the guests needs - to me that is a core value of a good hotel. Walking to our room was a maze of delight with corridors of landscaping, beautiful signature artwork and scultures pieces and just simply spotless. Our room was lovely with modern touches and marble floors and bathroom, a amazing view of the Aegean and smelled of flowers from the landscaping outside our window. Just perfect-made you want to take a nap everyday after a long hard day (not) by the pool. The pool was a salt walter pool, also just beautiful with an infinity feel to it and the water spray staff cooling you off with mist as you tan was pretty cool too - as if we didn't feel pampered enough now comes a young beautiful, friendly grecian to mist us down. The cocktails and food was a bit pricey but at that point you are reeling in the luxury that you simply don't care to spend $23USD for a cocktail - hey you're living the life so what the hell lol. The rest of the staff was just as attentive. They always knew exactly where to send us for a nice time (two females in their 30's) - contemporary, hip, trendy, people watcing places - as if they knew our style by just meeting us. Try Nammos at the Black beach, Kastros restaurant in Oia for the most amazing dinner with the perfect spot for watching the sunset - ask for Tony, he is a waiter there - perfect gentleman that we met one night out. Get there by 8ish so you don't miss the sun go down. And be sure to say hello to the pet English Bulldog "Bobby". The food was terrific and have one of their signature drinks!!!! Anyway back to the hotel. They simply were a home away from home with a touch of clean contemporary elegance.
