I love this hotel! My family and I have been staying at this hotel for about 9 years off and on. We have stayed during the middle of the high season as well as the low part of the season, and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and inviting, and I have sent many of our friends who also enjoy this place to stay. The only problem that we experienced was in the dinning room. Two of our family ordered a chiefs salad that was smaller then their restaurants dinner salad. When it came to the final bill, besides it being very costly, the restaurant would not accept their in house dinning coupon due to the fact that the chief’s salad was not considered an entree.
Beside the in house restauant, We really enjoy this place to stay and comnsider this a very pleasent experience. This hotel also is very pet friendly and still the rooms are exceptionaly clean.

This Holiday Inn - Battlefield was the only place we could get a last minute reservation in Gettysburg....and boy, we paid for it. WAY OVERPRICED at $149.
The front desk clerk was rude upon check-in, her name was Courtney. Clearly she is in the wrong line of work...I wanted to tell her to obtain some people skills.
The hotel is old, dark and blah! I wouldn't stay here again...even if it were the last room in town available. Our room was pretty banged up...in fact, everything looked banged up. The beds were awful...just awful. This was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in..in my life.
The best part of the facility probably was the pool..it's a nice size one....and the hotel is nicely situated within the downtown area...walking distance.

We stayed at this hotel July 4 & 5. It was an okay experience. Staff was not friendly. We were told check-in was at 3p.m., but room was still not ready then. The room was clean once we checked in. Only two towels were in the room. Two of the three lamps were missing lightbulbs. Had to track down housekeeping before we even sat down. Beds not very comfortable. Room near ours had two barking dogs - woke us up at 6a.m. Saturday. Cannot access lobby through front door of hotel between midnight and 5a.m. Must use back parking lot entrance. Nice location for 4th of July activities, but would stay elsewhere next time as other hotels in the area are just as nice, if not nicer, and a lot less expensive.

We stayed here in sept. 2006 and came back this May24-June 6th.. Clean rooms, staff was nice especially 'CHRIS'.,We had fun with him,,the rest of the staff here and in other hotels could learn some personality and sense of humour from him..Pool was too cold again ,no complimentary breakfast ,,the coffee was gone from teh lobby by 10:am every morning,, The location is great, close to everything..Dont waste money on the meals there,go across the street to the Avenue Restaurant,...If you arent afraid of GHOSTS..LOL.. and dont mind a bit of noise at night then this is the place to stay..

Really can't beat the location. It's across the street from the charming shops on Steinwehr and walking distance from the rest of downtown and Lincoln Square. The parking lot gives you a place to stash your vehicle.
By 8:30 pm, the outdoor pool was still a little cold, even though it had been a very hot day and was still a very warm evening.
The housekeeping was disappointing. The fitted sheet had been put sideways on one of the (full-size) beds, so that it kept falling off during the night, and it had not been fixed by the second night.
They did, however, bring us a pillow off the pillow menu when we requested one.
The worst surprise was when we were checking the room for our belongings before we left: in the dresser drawer we found some (open) saltine crackers; who knows how long they had been there.
