A little noisy due to its location, but a good resting place after a long and I mean long hot drive.
Typical Holiday Inn, so you know what your getting
Rooms have just been refurbished so that was very nice
Would stay again

The HI isn't on the water, but you pretty much have to drive around or ride a trolley on the island anyway, so no big deal. The grounds were well kept and the staff was very polite. Our room was very clean. We're Priority Club members, so we received a goody bag, a free room upgrade and late checkout without even asking, which was nice. Check-in took all of five minutes max. The pool area was nice. The pool closed at 10:00 p.m., which in Key West should've been more like midnight because everyone is out and about late into the evening. My only complaint is that bedsheets weren't changed every night. While I realize the politically correct thing these days is to "go green", I think sheets should be changed nightly at a beach area since you end up with sand in your bed no matter how hard you try to avoid that. For the price we paid, I was very satisfied with our stay.

We were at this hotel from April 7-11th and was actually impressed when we saw it. From the reviews I had read it was a little nerve racking wondering what this place would be like.
Upon checkin at 2:30pm- they did not have our room ready, so we opted for the pool. Now this is the strong point of this hotel. It is very nice out there with a open bar and wonderful landscaping. They have several mixed drinks avail. and 3-4 brands of draft beers. The bartender was a nice fella who not only served you drinks and took your food orders- but was a nice guy to talk to. We had not ate lunch yet so we order the wings and nachos. The food was actually very good. The nachos were frigin huge and we could not even finish them.
We then got our room and it was in the tower. They sold us on the "you will have a balcony- most of these rooms don't". But what they did not tell ya was the balcony over looked US1. I thought for sure it was going to be one noisy stay here. During the day you do hear all the traffic, horns, motors, and loud motorcycles. So a afternoon nap is really hard.
At night time however- it actually was fairly quiet. I only was awakened 2-3 times when a police siren went by.
As for the room they are nicely refurbed. Ours had new carpet, bedding, fresh paint, and the bathrooms were newly renovated. I will say however- all the cosmetics in the world cannot help an old hotel- and that was what this was. My father used to say "you can paint a piece of crap gold- but in the- it is still a piece of crap". That sord of holds true here. You can tell this was a old hotel- but they made a great attempt to modernize it.
My only complaint was the floors outside the room were pretty nasty- they were this ugly orangish color and looked in bad shape. The ice machine constantly leak water onto it and made it a slipping hazard if not careful.
overall I would stay here again- it is not close to Duvall or the marina's- but thats ok- if you rent a car you will be there in a matter of 10 minutes. Heck they even have rental scooters in the Parking lot of the Holiday Inn. You can rent those very cheap and will enjoy the ride. Just be careful on the ride back if you drink heavy- cops will snag ya- even in Key West.

Loved this Property

My partner and I were pleasantly surprised as I believe the reviews were very harsh. The staff at the Holiday Inn was exceptional, the room...very clean with lovely bedding, and the pool, outstanding. The location is wonderful especially if one wishes to make a quick exit in the morning. Parking was no problem downtown. We had a trouble free holiday and the hotel could not do enough to help make that happen. And, it was spring break with no problems as the staff was fair, respectful yet firm with the young people. I would recommend this property.
