Nice Place

Very nice property - seemed almost new. Easy on/off to I-10 and about 7 mi to the airport. Room was very spacious and had a huge flat panel TV. There was a fridge, micro, cabinet and sink setup similar to those found in Doubletree or Embassy Suites. Bath was spacious, had higher end towels and a broad selection of toiletries. Wi-fit worked fine for me. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items. Only disappointment was that the pool and hot tub were closed for repair while I was there. However, they looked nice and clean.

This hotel has a surprisingly nice gym on site. They have quality treadmills, ellipticals and a bike - all with individual TV's. Free weights plus a small weight circuit. Nice big windows looking out by the pool. Hotel fitness rooms are sometimes just a dusty closet with a broken treadmill and no window - this was a nice change.
The other parts of the hotel are nice too. Room was nice, clean. They do have exterior walk ways so be advised if you don't care for that. Staff very nice and helpful. Close to Sunland Horse Race Track which was really fun to visit.

Remarkably attentive, friendly, and helpful staff, but neither obsequious nor obtrusive. Transportation a pleasant surprise. Outstanding room - spotless & comfortable with lounge chair, best desk I've used on the road, frig, micro, and silence. Limited restaurant menu, but excellent food. Can't say enough good about the place and its people, and can't wait to return. (Serious business traveler in need of peace & quiet, office services, and relaxing environs.)

Stayed here 1 night in May '07. Room was fine, although due to a nasty lightning storm, all power went out most of the night (8 pm to sometime in the middle of the night). Not the hotel's fault, since the whole street went out, and they did come around with candles.
Never before have I seen such a nice gym at a hotel. Large. 3 treadmills I think, several ellipticals, bikes. All modern equipment. Freeweights too, and not just up to 20 lbs! For that alone, they get 4 stars!

The best hotel by far on the West Side of Town in El Paso

Okay, so I have stayed in a few hotels throughout my visits to El Paso. In fact, I originally booked a different hotel and stayed there one night and...it was terrible so I stopped at the Holiday Inn and asked if they had rooms. I moved my stuff over there asap the following day and spent the last three days I was in town there!
I travel there once or twice a year to visit family. I have to say that if you're looking to stay near the West side of town in El Paso..that this is your best bet. The room was clean and big. The staff was very nice and friendly and very helpful. I had to get an early check in..by early meaning 8am (I hated the hotel I was in so I had to get out!) and they let me have a room. No problem. The gym is brand new at the hotel. There is no other hotel that I have stayed at in El Paso that has a workout facility like this one. Most of them offer one treadmill that barely works and a bike and they call it a gym. This one had several cardio machines..all new and weights as well as flat screen tvs. I went into shock when I walked in! The pool..is small but clean and above average from what I've seen at other places. The location of the hotel is great! It's right near the mall, the racetrack and several great areas. Overall, the hotel isn't brand new and luxurious...perhaps stay near the airport if you are looking for more of that (although they are old as well..) but it is nice. I had pleasant stay and I will tell you that I will stay there from now on every time I visit El Paso. Having grown up in that city....I know the city well and this place was worth the money and pleasant. It's not the fanciest of places..that's not what you'll get. But it's comfortable. nice bar in the lobby too and free internet access.
