and the housekeeping team retired !
I read the reviews before going there and thought to be prepared for a not so great experience. Even this mindset did not help to turn my stay in a positive experience.
Reasons :
During reservation via their website, I specifically requested a room on a high floor and got one on the first floor. Completely ignored and why I asked, I was told that it was not possible. Surprising, since place felt deserted.
Upon entering the room, my first impression that I have never seen such a depressing decor : furniture from the 70s, a ceiling that used to be white once I guess, off white wall paper, two wobbly beds (while I reserved a king size), a very empty bathroom with 1 large and 1 small thin towel (although we were 2 adults).
Room was not clean at all : under my desk I found a candy paper laying, plenty of pubic hair in the bath tub (I think previous guest had a shaving session to be honest) and the balcony was so dirty that it was not usable.
Restaurant seemed closed and we did not feel like having breakfast in this place (however, during checkout, they added 2 breakfasts for a total of 44 euros automatically).
The whole ambiance in the hotel was depressing as well : you feel that you are not in a popular hotel, front desk was happy nor cheerful and you could read on other guests' faces that they felt trapped as well.
I don't agree that this was a typical Holiday experience.
My suggestion : avoid this place !

Travelling as a family of 4 for one night in Eindhoven, this hotel seemed the obvious choice as it is right off the highway. When we did the booking they recommended the Junior Suite for 209eur/ night, which, they said, had one double bed and 2 single beds for our kids. When we arrived, the hotel lobby was full of people attending several parties, loud music and cigarette smoke all around. This was the first annoying thing, but I let it go as our room was on the 8th floor and therefore no chance to be bothered by the noisy lobby. The second annoying thing was discovering that the so called Junior Suite comprised in a very samll room, the size of a regular double room, with a double bed and two single military style fold-up beds arranged on the two sides of the double bed. The room was cold and didn't seem to get warmer even if we put the heating at maximum, there were no extra blankets and the ones for the kids beds was very thin. The beds (all of them) were possibly the worst I have ever slept in, it would have been more comfortable to sleep on the hard floor had it ben clean and warm. The mattress from our double bed was full of holes and the fold-up beds the kids had to sleep on ... well ... you can only imagine.
Even though the room was supposed to be non-smoking, it was heavily impregnanted with the smell of cigaretts which was very unpleasent as we are non smokers and had kids with us. The only ok aspect of the room was the bathroom which had a good size jacuzzi bath and a rain shower and was clean.
In addition to the dissapointing room, the hotel, which we were told was recently renovated, was dark, cold, in an old style. Nothing pleasant about it.
Breakfast was an hysterical experience. Sitted in a non smoking area meant that right next to you there was a table in the apparently smoking area and we got all the smoke from our neighbours. The food was located far away from where we were sitted, the cue for tea, coffee, juice were long and people were pushy, taking up to 6 glasses of juice and coffees each when only one machine was available for the entire room, and the quality of food was dissapointing.
All in all, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Unfortunately the check-out took over half an hour, waiting in a long lane.

I stayed in the Holiday Inn Eindhoven for 2 nights in July. The first thing you notice is how 80's the building looks from the outside, but leaving that aside, its in the perfect location for exploring Eindhoven. Its right opposite the Central Bus and Train station and a 10 minute stroll to the main shopping district of the city.
Checking in, the staff coversed in English, which was very helpful, as I have no understanding of Dutch. I was given a room on the 9th floor, which was just as I had requested - a high floor room away from the lifts. The room was not the most aesthetic, again, it looked very 80's in both design and decor, with the bathroom being downright ugly. If you look beyond that however the rooms are functional and comfortable, with even a pillow menu available. The air conditioning unit in the room can be a bit loud, but since I sleep with earplugs, it didnt affect me. I was also pleased to learn that the Holiday Inn staff actually take heed of "Do Not Disturb" signs, as I have found so many dont.
Breakfast is continental style and very busy. Try get a B&B rate inclusive as its extremely expensive at €22 a go, just for cereal and bread (if you're like me that is!). I ate in the bar both nights, which is small and relaxed with the most divine burgers I've had in a long time.
Finally, I cannot praise the staff enough. They were always pleasant, ready to help and answered all of my queries.
