A friend held their wedding at this hotel, so we stayed here since their room block rate was competitive with the other similar hotels in the area and it was then convenient to go back and forth between our room and the reception.
It is an older hotel, but you can tell it's been recently remodeled and overall done quite well. You could hear noise from the hallway pretty clearly, and the showerhead was lower like a lot of old hotels (not fun for my tall husband) but otherwise I had no complaints on the room. It was cleaned well and newer soft goods.
The front desk staff was curteous, no complaints there.
If you are looking for a place in Eau Claire to hold a reception or meeting, I have to say the service was good at the reception and I had the best squash ravioli I've ever had. My husband had the chicken and liked that option as well. It wasn't the most ideal shaped room (really long and narrow) but it did work out okay.

This was a pretty boring Holiday Inn. The Green Mill restaurant attached was nice, with great service, but the rooms were outdated and boring. For $99 in this location, I expected a little better.

Just stayed in this hotel for a week, traveling from Minneapolis, MN. I chose this hotel for a few key factors: the Green Mill was attached, breakfast was included, and it had a fitness room. The Green Mill was important if long days at work forced me to stay in the hotel room for the evening.
I arrived on a Sunday at 3:30pm for a week stay. Being a light sleeper I asked for a top floor room in the very back of the hotel. There were no rooms available in the back, so I took a room on the first floor as far back as I could. The week was very cold and due to get colder (per the forecast). I snuggled into the first floor room, however, the floor had a cold draft . Rooms had only one corner floor heat register. The following morning I heard dogs barking so I knew this could be an issue if I stayed in the same room - the floor above allowed smoking and dogs. I only stayed because my co-workers were smokers and had 2 dogs.
I decided the floor was too cold for a week stay and asked to move to the back of the hotel the following day. They abliged and assigned me the corner back-most room on the 2nd floor. After getting my items unpacked and eating a quick meal, the room only felt colder and colder until I couldn't bare it anymore. I was in socks, pants, long sleeved shirt, jacket and shivering cold. I called the front desk for help and they sent the maintenance man. After a few minutes of trying to get the other heater to work, it would not. I asked to move to the room next door. Again, they abliged and even sent the maintenance man back with my keys.
Overall, the hotel floors were dirty. In all my rooms I found items like candy, fast food wrappers, and what looked like droppings (in one room). The keys were a pain, as one night my key let me into the hotel but not into my room. With all the trials and tribulations of my stay, the staff was very nice. However, I will most likely not try this hotel again anytime soon. * I never tried the fitness room or the breakfast bar.

I stayed here twice in October & it was really nice.
Great pool area, fitness center, and game room. Green Mill restaurant is attached & also a bar area and banquet facilities.
Room interior is new and beds are comfy.
The only thing I could complain about is the layout of the hotel is long and some areas are far away from the pool and other public areas such as the continental breakfast, fitness center, restaurant, etc.
